Amazon Scamming Me!?!? Where are my Commissions!!?? HELP!

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, I did browse around but didnt find too much


Here is my problem, hope someone can enlighten me.. My amazon associates account is reporting over 100 clicks for the last 2 days.. and no sales... and I know this is the point where people say newbie sickness.. 100 clicks is nothing.. be patient etc etc... but




Are sales tracked ONLY from registered domain? What about if i'm using facebook and twitter to input my links??



My clicks are EXTREMELY targeted and the fact is I know as least 5 of them would have ordered.. that is a fact


My question is this.... If someone orders via a third party on Amazon, one of the many companies that market on Amazon.. is this reported later? the clicks are there but will the actual sales show up a few days later accounting for confirmation or something like that? Is this normal? Is there a delay between click and sale..???


Please say yes! Or something is seriously wrong.. I have checked the links, everything is correct and the fact the clicks are showing shows my ID etc is placed correctly.. could the fact that its the weekend make any difference??

It all depends on when the person orders. The cookie duration for amazon is what 30 days..so if they order in 30 days you'll get commission..my experience from amazon is they are one of the best conversion sites..so i believe either your traffic is junk, or the people are not interested in what your pitching..i think you should of seen something..even if its a couple bucks.. I have a good price comparison site and it converts really well..i took my affiliate code and tested it doing stuff on facebook..got 100s of clicks and no sales..sometimes people just click shit to see it..is it a product that someone needs? good think about it though is now you have the cookie set so if they go back and buy something non related to you, you get money..

A question I have for anyone knowing about amazon is how do they track..if I used a hidden link how would they track it..for example if im masking my affiliate code ie... domain.com/Amazonproduct..how would amazon see where the traffic is coming from to ban you for shit like cookie stuffing? if the redirect or link is coming from my domain? ANyone can explain that?

I have never heard of amazon screwing the affs like this though. Maybe wait a few hours and check again.

They update from my experience of 5 years about 9am PST time..or else the next day.. But if you check the reports you can see if you have any orders...you only see commission once something has shipped..so he could tell if he had orders already...why would amazon be scamming you by the way? lol they're a multi billion dollar company, they dont have time to be scamming people..i've never missed a payment from amazon..best conversion site on the net...my amazon conversion is like 55% doing peak season..but my niche is a little different, most will buy something..problem is cant figure out how to keep it up over the down months

Correct me if I'm wrong but i strongly remember their tracking cookies being a 1day cookie.

yea you're 100% right..i havent read the TOS in years..i know it use to be 30 days...my site runs on auto pilot because its a price comparison site..so i just try to focus on traffic, which is hard as hell..but you are right..sorry for the bad info

It is 30 days actually. Regarding your payments mate, you should wait few more details before getting in touch with them. Sometimes it takes longer...

I know Amazon are not out to scam people thats why I thought i must be doing something wrong..

So I'm not at 180 clicks.. no sales.. heres the thing.. i know some people like to click for the sake of it but i'm directing traffic to specific pages and these people are 100% looking to buy this product.. heres where I may be going wrong...

I am advertising elsewhere, pre selling, price comparison etc, they click through to my website.. and I have a redirect straight to amazon product page....

I am using tiny url to shorten links.. so twice in total... So could this be a factor? Is a redirect a bad idea? Do classified work anymore!? Or is somehow Amazon on to this? Aaargh! Frustrating as I feel like money is slipping through my fingers! I see no sales.. orders.. shippings.. just lots of clicks.. the rule of precentage says some would order... especially as they couldnt be more targeted

From my point of view they have a pretty outdated tracking system. Beside the very basic look, they are not offering many useful information which could help the affiliates to better their conversion and sales.

Beside the delays ( which appear from time to time) it's obvious that they are making some updates daily but not with all the products you sold one day ago. I have days with 8,9,14 and after those days with 34,42...averaging what I usually have 20-24/day...so their updates are pretty sick.

Anyway, scamming is out of discussion especially in the case of very few sales. Amazon to scam affiliate is like a billionaire stealing the ice-cream from a 3 year old kind.
