Amazon Niche Website - Keyword guide/help?

Hi all,

first off, i read countless guides on this website about amazon and some had brilliant information on how to scale, develop, set up etc.

But what every single one of them lacks for absolute newbs (like me) is the keyword research area.

They all go on amazon pick a random product, and select a keyword onto it which has X stats.

My big question is, how to judge if the keyword is good for amazon?

Which requirements? Cold hard numbers. Local search? Advertising high? EMD? Whats good whats bad? Which keywords "look good" but are bad (IE. high volume, but missing X....).

Would love it if someone had a link to a post/video/website that did contain this or maybe have a quick chat in PM.

It's up to you, if you have a big SEO budget for an huge keywords or if you want rank an easy 150MS keywords, no rules about that it's just your choice, also for the keywords be sure the visitors search it for buy the product and not for have more informations because in some case one lower volume of monthly search can bring your more money than a bigger keywords

As ridiculous as it sounds, comments like these help a lot for complete newbs as "huge keywords require big set budget" is something to be fair i have never seen before. I see people mentioning "atleast 1500 searches' but that just indicates the minimum you seek after, nobody talks about a maximum.

The reason im specifically interested in the thing above, is because im trying to chose vs 2 keywords for our first niche site one being 90kMS (34 keyword comp) other 2.9kMS (22 keyword comp) both with EMD/buy and we just can't make a decision as we simply do not "understand" if the 90k one is a treasure or a false flag. But i guess your advice ruled it out, specially for newbs i assume.

I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to Amazon myself, but put it this way: choose whichever keyword you think has a higher chance of bringing in a "buying visitor" to your page. Is the person searching looking to buy things, or are they just searching for information on that product (eg. how to use it or general information).

Good Amazon Keyword: best toasters to buy, blue toaster reviews - People are ready to buy a toaster!!
Bad Amazon Keyword: how to fix toaster, how to toast bread, why is smoke coming from my toaster
