    Hello BHW,

I have been on this site for a while now, lurking and reading. When I joined a few years ago I was into internet marketing as a way to make extra funds, had a few micro Niche sites earning about $100 a month that were ebay targeted, dabbled in other types of sites such as the million pixel web page (*great concept), Dating web pages like POF, some adult sites, then got a 9-5 and got caught up in other projects and my growing empire crumbled... I kept coming back to BHW on occasion to keep up on trends and missed the challenge and fun of this line of work. When the 9-5 stop happening and my side work hitting a slow time, I turned to what I enjoyed and know I could make some funds with - Affiliate sites and BHW.

I started to read this post by (arganrecords) - my-journey-discussions/759612-amazon-authority-website-journey-1000-day-100-outsourced (sorry not allowed to post links :/)
and was inspired. Read it from first post to page 11 and said, "YES.. I need to do this as well". Very great read, insightful.

This Journey will document my development of Amazon Niche sites relying on outsourcing. I am no Grue or SEO wizard, I just read a lot.
If you see ways I can improve this adventure, please let me know. :)

Below you will find my logic in this process, please let me know your thoughts, if you think its good or is a flop.

    -------------
    The Vision:

    • Acquire 2 Amazon Niche sites with EDM keywords that a 2nd party makes.
    • After the sites are delivered, push the SEO with a goal of both sites making at least $600 a month in 2-4 months (*I would love to do better but a goal of an extra $1200 a month would make living a lot more easier).
    • Majority of the work *outsourced (*most by BHW services) - a study on expense vs return?.
    • Document the process and learn additional ways to stream line and increase profitability.
    • In 6 months repeat using the funds from the first 2 sites to power the development of the next 2 with increased profitability.

    ------------
Initial costs associated with outsourcing start up:
    • Web Hosting for 1 year (3 free Domain names)
      • $95.40
    • 2 Amazon Niche sites with EDM and 2000+ monthly searches
      • Estimated: $200 ($100 each)
    • SEO boost to make sites more of an authority site.
      • $170 total ($85 each)
    • Total initial outlay cost: $465.40

    ------------
Costs associated with on going content, SEO and growth:
    • Goal to release 3 articles a week on each site based around the Niche (6 total a week that are review based articles or supporting authority content articles)
      • 500 - 700 words in each article - about $5 per article = 6 articles // $30 a week | 24 articles // $120 a month | 288 articles a year // $1,440 a year for content.
      • * All figures are estimated.
    ------------
    • Grand total expenses estimated for the year to attain the above all just by outsourcing: $1,905.40
      • Work would be imputing articles, SEO site lay out, content research, and managing the writing team (4 hrs a week).

    ------------
    Potential profits and Time lines:
    • Month 1
      • Get Hosting
      • Get services for the Niche sites.
      • Launch sites
      • Small SEO push 1 week after launch
      • Work on indexing sites in Google
      • I don't except to see any profits in the first 30 days.
    • Month 2
      • SEO Push for domain Authority.
        • Give the BIG G time to find and index the site, then push for #1 or #2 listing.
      • Goal of 25$ a week in sales ($100 per site per month $200 total income)
    • Month 3
      • I will enter the manual link building phase
      • Contact domains and see about guest blog posts, link swaps.
      • Should have secured #1 or #2 spot in the ranking for my keywords.
      • Goal of $100 a week in sales ($400 per site $800 total)
    • Month 4
      • If all goes well, I should have a good selection of articles in place (36 articles per site by the start of month 4 and 48 by the end)
      • Goal of $150 a week in sales, ($600 per site $1200 total *about a total average of $40 in sales per day total threw Amazon)

    ------------
    Pitfalls and dangers:
    • If the EDM Niche sites are not visited - a dead or dark Niche.
      • SEO push fails to push site up in SERP's
      • Protection - 2 sites, increase the chance of one of them hitting.
    • Funding runs out before sites have the chance to be realizes 100%
      • No fall back on this one - I hope the incoming profits can offset the content writing by the second month and by month 4 have covered the initial outlay and future content.
      • Pull out - If the initial investment is covered but generating less them 10$ a month, hold on to them for a year then flip them. If the profits are higher then the operating costs ($120 for the year), keep them.

Well, that's about it for the start. I am waiting to hear back from a few service providers on final costs, then its off to the races with this project. I hope to have this all in motion by the end of the week.

In future updates (*prehaps once a week) I will let you know how the sites are performing, the profits if any, the hurdles that were meet, and what web pages I am using to generate content and such.

Any insights or thoughts are welcome.

    Thank you!

    Day 3 - 6/19/2015
Its Friday here, 2 days after starting on this journey.

My goal was to have the project underway by the end of the week, and we are right on track.

A new hosting account is set up, two new web domains are purchased with fresh installs of word press on them, and the contractor who will be installing the Amazon affiliate site and the initial SEO is ready to get started. Woot! - I am very curious to see the structure they will set up to rank the site.

The TAT for delivery of the final sites is about seven days. So around the 26th the sites should be finished, initial articles posted, and the SEO and marketing can start.

I was reading some additional posts on BHW and think I've other techniques to roll in with this using Facebook group marketing, the Jack jacker plugin.

Thank you to those who joined me on this adventure!

Interesting plan! One question though, are you already doing off-page SEO without having any content or age on the site? Also, to save time (and money) I would recommend you to build the sites yourself - it doesn't take more than 1 hour and you save $100 that you could put on content instead = 20 extra articles right there.

Anyhow, best of luck with your journey. I will be following! :)

Thanks for the feed back and solid point.

I am still kinda new at affiliate marketing, I did have a few sites a few years back, however that was all from me making then and experimenting. I had small successes but not a big hit.

I thought setting up my own WordPress blogs and following the steps that lead me to small sucess before, however, I wanted to go bigger and was not sure how.

I picked out sourcing as a way to see how people that do this for a living would set up a site, SEO the page, and build authority on the topic, a site that has staying power. Learn from that and prehaps make a new site in the future. Also settling in on a keyword / EDM that was 1.interesting to me, and 2.in a profitable niche, was providing to be quite tricky, and if I want to go balls the wall, I would end up paying for services for keyword research.

    In summary.
I I figured it would take one week my time to set up one site (quality of quantity), my chance of success would be less as most of it would still be learning (*thus reducing my chance of having a profitable niche site). By outsourcing the work to quality vendors I increase my chances for a successful niche site, and for higher profits in the long run.

    With regards to SEO

I have the keywords we will be bidding on, and EDM site for the Nich. I'm going to wait till the vendor finishes the sites before starting SEO to better see how they are promoting it and then follow that to continue promoting it.

thanks for the question, I hope the answer above answered it. :)

    Day 16: 7/1/2015

    Updates:

From the last post till today.

I bought an expired domain name that had some good DA and inbound links, I was using it to send Bing add traffic to for reviews on clickbank items (*never tried marketing in this way so I thought give it a go as I waited on the and micro niche sites to be finished and had $100 credit with Bing. As of yet no sales from the method, However the reviews of the products are still online - so perhaps they'll be indexed and I may make a sale the future.)

I also ordered a micro authority site to advertise clickbank products exclusively through. I'm waiting on the keywords and the EDM to buy for this domain.

Today, two of the micro niche websites I ordered were delivered as well! This is very exciting. They both look solid. Along with the content delivered on them, have type up 2 reviews on Amazon products (1 for each site) to get the feeling of how the site works.

As I am not trying to do anything black hat with the sites, I would like to be ranked as authority review sites, my first step was to register them on the bing webmaster tools and Google webmaster tools.

I am at a loss though for my next course of action should be.

Financially, I am now in a very tight bind. These sites have become performers by the end of the month or else... Well let's just say there will be no more updates come August 1st if some revenue does not come in. o_O

The financial bind has also put a kibosh on buying content for the sites, so I will be manually typing content (*using Dragon). Sucks, but you got to do what you gotta do right?

    Looking for advice:

    • [*=1]What do you feels the best way to start ranking a new website?
[*=1]Do you have a link to an article here on BHW that is dead on?

    - Thanks for your support! When I make my first million I will take you out for pizza! ;)

    Day 24: 7/9/2015

It's been almost a month since I started this journey.

To date however I've not made any money from it. While this is unfortunate, its is not fully unexpected. I anticipating by the middle of this month to see a profit coming in from inbound links after the SEO start to take hold and I begin to rank the keywords.

With no link building done on my three sites, according to Google analytics from June 30 to today, each have currently experienced:

site one technology - 27 session
    site two home-improvement - 388 session
site three health - 28 sessions
(*some of those were obviously me setting up and editing things)

Site two was a expired domain that I bought which had some inbound link juice. This is why think I'm seeing a higher session count than with the other two. However 2 of the main inbound links are from porn sites and I'm getting a high bounce rating of 71.6%, unsure how that will affect me in the long run.

In addition, on-site one and site three I've installed the "Next Scripts: Social Networks Auto Poster" wp plugin. I spent a day setting up social media accounts on Facebook, twitter, StumbleUpon, delicious, LiveJournal, Diigo, and a WordPress blog for each site with unique names of personas - that will be automatically posted to any time I make a post on my site. This I hope will help with inbound linking and increasing my page authority.
I have been also writing two articles a week for each of the sites, one a review of a product and Amazon in the second an article in the general field. This I hope also will help with general ranking for keywords.

Questions for people who may be reading or following:
    1. How long generally does it take you to have a new site rank for keywords?
    2. What are some other methods I should be employing the my keywords index and my site rank?

    Thank you all!

Amazon Affiliate sites are by no means, quick money. To be honest, any site that isn't a churn n burn, takes time to create results. Be patient. You only started 1 month ago.

To answer your above questions. There really is no way to know how long a site will take to rank. There are far too many variables to take into consideration. Your competition is an important factor though.

Writing two articles per week is nowhere near enough. Not at the start.

Try writing 2 per day minimum. If you can afford it, outsource it. If you can't, suck it up and start writing.

How many articles are currently on your sites?
What position are you currently in the SERPS for your target keywords?

Good practice is to build your content for the site, index it and wait a few weeks to see where it lands. This way, you'll have a better understanding on what SEO efforts you'll need.

    @ Ijonnyx
    Thank you for your response!
    to answer questions..

How many articles are currently on your sites?

    site one technology -

    • 5 news articles
    • 9 reviews of different products
    site two home-improvement -
    • has about 22 articles
    site three health

    • 5 news articles
    • 6 review articles

All the articles or are 500 through 1000 words, some of them extending over thousand words of unique content.
All them also have a social media profile.

What position are you currently in the SERPS for your target keywords?
Since getting the sites launched, none of them are indexed yet. However I hope with SEO push I will get some of them on the board. I am tracking my seo ranking with
    Code:
    serplab.co.uk
    .

I am am still new at this and don't know how best to move forward to get on the board.

Good luck on your journey and hang in there. It takes time to build up an income with a site like that, but once you do it will make all the effort worthwhile. I know your back is against the wall financially now so patience is hard to come by. Also thanks for the regular updates I enjoy reading and learning from journeys in progress.
