Sorry for what may seem as simple question to most.

I know nothing about affiliate links but my friend is setting up an Amazon affliate link on their fb group for members to buy stuff through the link & is listing loads stuff he thinks people will buy from Amazon through his link. He thinks that its only the stuff he lists he will get apaid for

I think, if he joins the programme his affliate link, when clicked is enough to register a visit regardless.

Trouble is Amazon doesn't actually seem to make it clear. Am i right or wrong TIA

Accourding to Amazon Assossited Program, all links must be in your own site or application.
You can redirect fb groups to your site, put good content with links to amazon products and hope visitors click it

You need to have a site/application before you can advertise amazon links, if not, you will get back in no time.
Plus, you get commission for everything bought through your link.

Being an Amazon Affiliate Expert, I can tell you that your friend is gonna get banned if he doesn't stop right now (Probably this is already too late). Amazon only allows you to add associate/affiliate links to your website or YouTube channel which is mentioned in Associate Seller Account beforehand. Any exceptions will result in ban.

Cheers. I dont think he's gone live with the links yet. He does have a fourm so I guess he would need to direct people to the forum to click & not through fb
