Amazon Kindle Unlimited - UK link will work with US resident ?

Hello all,

I'm new to amazon affiliate and I have a question with Amazon Kindle Unlimited bounty.

I want to promote this service and I saw that with the UK affiliate program we can earn £3 when promoting the Kindle Unlimited 30-Day Free Trial.

But for the US affiliate program, unfortunately, it seem that the bounty only work with paid subscription, or maybe I misunderstood the description.

I contacted the french support (because I'm French) and they said that the co.uk affiliate link will work for US residents and I will earn £3 if successful free trial subscription.

I find this answer a bit weird... Do you have any idea why the co.uk links will work for US resident ? Because in the US affiliate program, (it seem that) we can't earn by promoting the free trial... It mean that this restriction can be "bypassed" by switching to UK affiliate program ?
