US-based Prime member here. Been using it for a good five years now, easily 300+ separate orders, easily tens of thousands of dollars. Never once did the Prime shipping take over two days. Not even when Irma came through.

They're using Uber drivers to deliver things here now.

Yea, must be different over there. Over here, I can literally order almost anything and have it next day for free.

Yes, they are also hiring free lance drivers off craiglist. IDK if this is still happening since they shifted to some uber contract or something.

Sounds fucking awesome, I love Amazon but their delivery in the UK sucks donkey balls.
I have had orders returned to Amazon because the delivery guys can't be arsed to park up and climb a few stairs.
They don't want to risk getting a parking ticket but don't want to park legally as it adds time, I don't even care and would be fine if they said couldn't be arsed to deliver but when they lie and say delivery attempt made or nobody home it just drives me fucking crazy.
The really crazy thing is that deliveries have all taken longer with Prime and it just adds insult to injury that I paid for the privilege for them to treat me like a clown.
Amazon Customer support is great but they don't have any authority over the delivery guys, so it just ends up with me tearing my hair out.

sounds to me like amazon needs to just sort out there local delivery services.
