I would request the Mods to please move this into the correct section if this is not the appropriate section for this

I know this section is about Ebay but there was no other section about Amazon so I am posting in this


Amazon only accepts items for selling on their website if you have a UPC (or EAN) for the product

Do all the dropshippers who are dropshipping to US, give this code?

If not,then is there someway to find it

I cant find it on http://www.upcdatabase.com/

Moreover,has anybody had any luck with exemption of UPC from Amazon...if yes,what was the process

There are companies that will sell you a upc for fairly cheap. It's been a while since I looked into it so I don't have a resource handy but search for it and you'll find several.

[edit]Ok. I searched for Buy upc code and one of the top ads had singles for $7.50 with instant delivery

So if I am having 1000 products on my site,then I would have to buy a UPC for all by investing 2000$ (bulk pricing)?

Isn't that too expensive.....any other alternatives?

If you developed 1000 actual products then your investment will be much more than $2 per product for the upc. Product design, packaging, shipping solutions, etc.

[edit] just reread your post. The upc is for products you develop. your drop shipped products will more than likely have their own upc and your shipper can provide those too you.

I am not developing (or manufacturing the products)....I am only dropshipping items

Are you sure that dropshippers have a UPC for each product?

Is the buying UPC thing only for developers?

Typically yes it is only for your own products. I would just ask them for their upc and if they don't have one, I guess you could tell them how to get one, or just ask if they will let you get one.

I haven't tried to get around amazons upc requirement recently but around 2 years ago I had no luck.
