Hello guys,
I was looking for some item for my new apartment and I found a perfect item on google search. I won't mention what type of item it is, but I find only one website which was selling it. I tried to look same or similar thing on amazon without any luck and i actually was amazed why nobody selling such thing. I am 100% sure this item is really nice and a lot of people would be happy to have/buy it for their apartments too, but as I said, i have found only one website which was selling it.

So now I am wondering. I could create same item easily myself and I am preparing to do it in near future. On website this item piece cost abput $80-$100, but I could make it for about $10-$20. And I thought maybe I could start a business building same stuff and selling on internet/amazon.

So my question is. Is it good or bad if I can't find same item selling on amazon? Maybe its good because where isnt any competition, but on other hand it's bad, because maybe nobody need such stuff.

How can i check if people are interested in buying and is there any demand for such items?

yeah, those are the questions. now you have to do the research for yourself and find out. you can find a billion gurus out there who would love to tell you how if you just watch their 10+ minute video or pay them large amounts of money. don't do that unless you have money to blow, and even then i'd probably ring that refund bell before the time is up.

the closest thing to an answer to your question would be "Jungle Scout" or one of it's competitors. your price point and margin are fine, but how heavy or fragile is this thing? (rhetorical)

and here's the answer you should really consider: if this is a thing you would enjoy making and creating a real business out of, then amazon is a place where you can find a large audience who is looking to spend money.

Never heard of handmade on FBA maybe try eBay first where you don't have to produce many units upfront it will be lower investment, lower risk and about the same target audience.
