Wondering if anyone with experience in this market/business type can shed some light on the advantages and disadvantages of starting this kind of business and also some possible tips.

I am talking about ordering a product from a cheap supplier, putting a private label on it, shipping it to amazon, create a product page and having amazon do the rest.

Also tips on how to boost your amazon product rank fast?

I did a research on this topic once and this is hectic! Amazon warehouses are strictly regulated and are fit to be described "ASSHOLES". The shipping palette should have all the paperwork with it and wrapped properly. Each small item in the palette should have the SKU on it and several details. The wrapping should also so be perfect. In addition to many other things. Simply sending a shipment from china or supplier to amazon doesn't work :/ you need to physically check and reform the items before sending to amazon. I'm out of USA so i can't really do that + it would cost a lot.

Anyone else have any new ideas or loopholes to share?

It could be good idea but Amazon prefer the cheap cost and high quality product. It doesn't matter who is your supplier but will you able to get better profit margin from as Amazon only purchase cost efficient products.

I have never had an issue shipping from a supplier in china directly to an amazon warehouse.
And that's after 4 product launch's with 3 different suppliers, the only thing you need on each product is the SKU which every supplier I work with puts in on for free. I'm not sure what you mean by everything has to be prefect as they really only require the SKU.

you should try to differentiate your product from competitors a little bit at least. Otherwise you'll just be competing on price and you will most likely lose being a noob

Be aware of Amazon's new TOS updates as well. New sellers can't send anything in until December 19th and they eliminated incentivized review which is skyrocketing the cost of PPC advertising
