    I have a small inquiry about Amazon.com

    Scenario:

    1. I Acces Amazon.com using someone else Affiliate link.
    2. The link bring me to product A.
    3. I then acces the product B page and purchase product B

Will the affiliate get a commision for the sale?

Does Amazon store a cookie on my computer so any product I purchase on their site, the Affiliate will get a commision for the sale?

    Thanks!

Yes, you have an Amazon cookie on your pc. It lasts for 24 hours and anything bought will generate a commission. So you can click on 20 different products and anything you purchase will go to the affiliate.

You also have to remember that it is the last link you use to get into Amazon. I ran a site with a friend when we were both just learning about IM and we both contributed posts. he linked with his code and I linked with mine. A little competition/motivation to get us to post so we would have more than the other. We did some tracking and realized that the problem was that they would visit the site and go to Amazon from one of my links and then came back to our blog and then visited Amazon through one of my friends links. We were not getting huge volume or sales, so it was easy to see someone who purchased an item I reviewed, but went through my friends link where he got the credit. The products we reviewed were not related so it wasn't a case of the buyer stumbling upon the other product either. Luckily I was working with a true friend and we split all commissions down the middle regardless since this was still a learning experience.

    Hi,

Actually that is the best thing with amazon =) Their shopping cart induces your customers to buy more =)

i always thought amazon's payouts were kinda low..

like you'd have to get someone to buy a $100 item in order to make just $4 off of it.

contrast that with some free trial offers that pay out $16 per sign-up, and the latter just seems like it would be so much easier to get someone to do.

    meh :\

I gave myself a month to try Amazon affiliate and another month to try CPA, I ended up making much more money with Amazon though!

    Hi,

Well, as you sell more items your commission increases. So the trick is to sell low priced items in one blog and make another one wherein you sell high ticket items. You'll probably sell more stuff that you don't intent to promote since they have a good shopping cart. Last time I sold a tv while I am selling something else haha! =)
