Amazon Cookie Length

Most know the cookie length for Amazon is a mere 24 hours but i have heard that if the customer puts an item into his shopping cart it is extended to 90 days!
Is there a way that will not break the Amazon T/C that lets you automatically prompt your traffic to add an Amazon product to their shopping cart and therefore get a longer cookie life?
I have heard of a plugin available has anyone had any experience with such a thing?

Just have an an to cart button and the button will redirect to amazon cart.

But will this extend the cookie if they dont purchase within 24 hours?

what if the customer is not logged in his/her amazon account ?? or it still works?

I would love to know as well.

Amazon associates tracking is more of a session cookie and anything added to cart pays commission if checkout occurs within 90 days of adding it to cart, there's several ways to implement add to cart but if they catch you auto-adding you'll get terminated and not paid.
