Amazon Converts Like Crazy! 20% Conversion Rate On A Newish Website!

Just a little motivation for you guys that are just starting with Amazon Affiliate Program. I know the amount is low, but considering how little effort I put in the site and the content, it's really inspiring how much you can actually earn with Amazon (and how easily). The focus should be on the conversion rate instead, which is what surprised me the most.



The conversion rate is diluted since I clicked on some of my links. The real number is around 20%, which is mad.

But that's not all, take a look at this. I have about 10 articles published and get around 30 visits a day on this site. About 70% of those visits come from one informational article!

So only 9 average visits a day are to my affiliate articles (2 articles). And those articles are dancing on the 8-9 spot for the main keyword, so imagine what the earnings would be if I was positioned in the top 3.

I'm not a native English writer and realistically, my articles are mediocre. Solid, but could certainly be better. And they still convert like this.

I'm so glad that many people left Amazon and went for other affiliate programs. Less competition and more dough for me .

It's so damn easy to earn with Amazon. They created a supreme brand that gives people peace of mind and makes them order so much stuff like it's nothing. You could just put some bullshit text around amazon links that are related to searcher intent and people will still click and you'll see some conversions.

And if you do solid keyword research and pick your niche wisely, you can expect great results. I'm gonna start a journey thread in a few months and scale this baby to at least a couple of thou.

I have a newish affiliate site comparable to yours, 30 clicks/day as well, although all articles are buyer intent.

I "only" have a 16% CVR so far though, but I'm not doing Amazon.

The conversion rate for the info article is lower than 20%, as that would be crazy. Sorry, I didn't note that.

It's around 5% for the info article (which is still mad!) and about 20-30% for the buyer intent articles (most of the clicks to Amazon are from these articles).

16% CVR for a non-Amazon affiliate program is excellent mate, congrats on that! As I said above, no affiliate program will ever convert like Amazon. Never.

I'm promoting low-ticket products (around $20) so naturally, I'll have an even higher CVR than you usually get with Amazon for $50 to $100 products, and not to mention $100+ ones.

Ah, I just skimmed through the post basically only paid attention to the title hehe

Yeah low ticket products are what I'm promoting as well, which is probably why I have such good CVR. That and the fact that the cookie tracking time is 30-45 days.

5% for info articles is still mad though! Those terms are typically higher volume as well.

No arguing with amazon affiliate having the highest CVR though, it's just the best in that. Although the commissions are lacking now, and I doubt they won't cut them again...

Yeah, I definitely agree with you on the commission cutting. I'm hoping it won't happen again but expecting it at the same time.

I went with Amazon since I'm not a particularly talented writer and Amazon boosts my conversions even though my content is dull.

Guess I'll consider switching to a higher commission/cookie duration affiliate program when I get better at writing or start outsourcing the content.

The same to you! And being a talented writer is not the reality honestly. Just chuck a nice looking table of the top 3 products of your list and bam, like 70-80% CVR to the affiliate links. 99% of the visitors on my site don't even read a word hehe

Never underestimate the power of that 1 day cookie.

Given the SIZE of Amazon and the TRUST consumers have in it, it's no surprise a significant chunk of Amazon affiliates' income comes from add-on sales through the cookie and not the products they're pushing.

What's the average for pet niche?

I.e: I have a blog about dogs. If I place text links and banners around the website, what CR% can I get?
It's possible to get around 2%?

20% is pretty good and you will need the high cvr to make some money. Especially after the drop (again) in commission rates. Enjoy it while it lasts, Amazon will shut down it’s affiliates network in the near future.

How many posts you have, is your website focused only in one type of product?

Jesus, you sound like my dad lol. He measures potential only in dollar signs, and that's fair enough. But notice that I never mentioned anything about earnings in the post. I actually wrote that you should disregard the earnings as the site is fresh and the majority of the traffic comes from an informational article!

I have a grand total of 3 articles that are actually bringing traffic and the info article takes about 60% of the overall trafic on the site. And the 2 buyer intent articles are actually dancing on the 8-10 spot. Let me ask you something. How much time do you need to write 3 articles? 2, maybe 3 days if you're lazy.

So I spent less than a week on this site altogether and it's one of the first I ever made. I see a huge potential here while you are mocking Amazon affiliate and adding sarcastical troll comments. I don't see the need for that.

I'll be making a journey thread on scaling this site here pretty soon. You're welcome to check on it and see how I'm doing after some time. I reckon you'll be surprised with the results.

If you earn $10 a month, then you can earn $100 and eventually $1000 a month, you just need to keep doing what you are doing and grow your site.
