Amazon.com and other Amazon websites

I think I read it somewhere already but I cant find this information. If someone clicks in your affiliate link that redirects com a page on amazon.com and the person is, lets say, from Mexico and change it to Amazon.me ( is it .me?) and buy that product or other products on Amazon Mexico... Am I going to receive comission?

Nope. Two reasons:

1. Amazon affiliate programs work independently

You need to be registered on Amazon.de (.me doesn't exist) affiliate program separately. It's totally different program from Amazon.com. But what if you are registered on both, are you getting commission then? Not quite...

2. Tag parameter in URL needs to be passed to each Amazon website for you to get commission

If the affiliate link on your site is www.amazon.com/dp/B00I8BIBCW?tag=anafsp1-20 and the visitor clicks that, he gets taken to Amazon.com with your tag registered by Amazon.com system, ready to give you commission. But that is only for Amazon.com. Now, if the same visitor doesn't buy anything on Amazon.com but goes to www.amazon.de (.me doesn't exist) by typing the address in the web browser and buys from there, you don't get the commission. That's because there is no ?tag= attribute in the URL he just typed on the browser's address bar, is there?

Promote the product of amazon.com because it is one of the largest place in the world to buy stuff online so just sign up through their affiliate program and promote the different things of amazon.com website.
