I got one of the greatest shocks of my life yesterday. Amazon closed my account and withheld commissions for the following reasons,

“Your current Associates account is closed because an account belonging to you (or a person or entity connected or affiliated with you) has previously been closed for violations of the Operating Agreement or one of the other Amazon marketing programs.”

I created my affiliate account in 2019, and was accepted immediately. Due to trying to monitize UK traffic, I created Amazon UK affiliate account. Then in September 2020, the Amazon.co .uk affiliate account was closed for using the Amazon logo on one of my posts. This error was caused by the ContentEgg plugin which showed the Amazon logo. I corrected the mistake by properly configuring ContentEgg. I use ContentEgg to get real-time product price just like would see on sites like TechRadar and co.

While the UK account was closed, the global Amazon affiliate account was still working. So I felt I was safe only to receive this sad message.

I have appealed via the provided link and I still haven’t received any reply till now.

I have another Amazon account and I don’t know if it’s safe to add this site to that account.

Oh damn. There is just no certainties in life. Were you doing blackhat?

No, I wasn’t doing anything shady. Like I said, the ContentEgg plug-in displayed Amazon logo next to the price. So I figured out and turned off display of logo.

The Amazon global account has been working since then till yesterday when I received the sad news.

Amazon could got a three strike policy like Youtube.
Create a account with your family member name with a different and try not to make the same mistake.

What about using the same site? Won’t Amazon detect its same site linked to the closed account and close it again.

Yes, the UK affiliate account was banned but the Global account remained active and functional for two more years.
That's about it! any traces from other accounts would be fully accounted for.

They are very strict about violating any rules, so it's unlikely that you'll get your account unlocked. Try to talk to their support service, maybe in your case you will be able to solve this problem. Don't give up and talk to them.

You can't add the same site. Maybe, but best not even risk it. You'll want to create a new account with the help of a private browser and a private proxy, a new computer footprint. Even a VPN from some providers might be enough, but the majority will have been used and abused by now.

It was a big mistake, never knew the plug-in was displaying the logo. I sent them a mail since yesterday and 24hrs later, no reply. I’m not giving up, I believe the account will be reinstated.

I don’t really want to cut corners. From what I heard, most accounts get closed again after a few months.

But if the site was sold and the new owner of that site started with Amazon? They won't ban you for that.

They usually respond within a few days. Just keep waiting.

The ban reason is clear.

My associates tag was wrongly flagged before and my account was closed.
I managed to get it back after contacting Amazon UK head office and explaining the situation to them and why I shouldn't be banned after all.

It could be worth a shot in this case.

If I get you correctly, you mean I can actually add this site to another account and not get that account closed too.

Yes, the reason is clear. My Amazon UK account was closed 2yrs ago for displaying the Amazon logo on my site. I didn't bother to appeal because I earned very little from that account.

However, 2yrs after, despite fixing that error back then, Amazon decided to close my US associate account for being linked to the UK account.

I have contacted them, but its 72hrs now and no reply.

Buddy, forget it, they will find reasons to keep you banned.

Move on, make new accounts, rectify mistakes and start over.
