Amazon closed my affiliate account

I mostly had my affiliate links on my youtube channel, but I used a blog website to set up my affiliate account with amazon. Recently, Amazon sent me this:

"Thank you for applying for the Associate program. Upon review, we are unable to accept your application. A part of our criteria is that your site has to be established with enough unique content. We rejected your application due to one or more of the following reasons.

- Lack of content which is original to your site and beneficial to your visitors
- Pages that are mainly empty when advertisement content is removed "

I already had a good start and made $12, which at least they gave me.

Basically, my question is, if I want to be an Amazon Associate and mostly use links on my youtube channel, how do I do it without being shut down?

yes this is too bad, i had similar issue with amazon associates program, seems that they don't like to get direct traffic from youtube videos, if you like you can create a landing page with added value info on the product,that links to amazon, and use the videos to redirect traffic to that landing page.

You need to buy / build a quality site to avoid having these issues;

- Lack of content which is original to your site and beneficial to your visitors
- Pages that are mainly empty when advertisement content is removed

Think of the site as an investment and then your YouTube as a supporting act to drive traffic to your site.

That's weird. There are a lot of guys that use the amazon affiliate program without homepage and only on youtube.

Lately Amazon have been very strict with their application. You should probably make a simple website and link to the website from your videos.

It's strange I got into Associates without a site. As a matter of fact, I have been approved on more than 50+ affiliate networks without a website

Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned I had a site in the first place, and just attached my associates account to my youtube channel, if that's possible.

I make money from amazon via youtube so very strange indeed.

It's like a probation period I guess. I also had to have at least 4 unique sales within 90 days or something like that.

i think it is based on how big your channel trafic is. because I have 2 youtube channels that promoting amazon products (already adsense monetize), and my apply accepted less than a day.

It's because your channel is too small. You should have at least 1k subs + a lot of views in order to get accepted. It happened to me also. I applied when I had about 500 subs and got denied. When I got about 1500 subs I applied again and they accepted my request immediately.

MisterF's advice is solid.

Additionally, if you are uploading original content to YouTube then continue doing so to grow your channels subscriber base and monthly viewership - if your numbers are okay you'll have no problem getting your Amazon Associates application approved. On the flip side, if your channel is small and you aren't really getting any views then don't worry about Amazon and focus on better establishing your channel as you won't make any money promoting products until you're videos are getting views. If both your website and YouTube channel have minimal activity, there is no reason for Amazon to accept you into their affiliate program
