Has anyone tried the amazon hosting? i was playing around with it and I can see that it might be kinda cool but everything seemed a little confusing so I thought that someone here might have already plowed through and looked at it. The pricing seems a little high at something like 36 a month for high usage but with the ability to change IP addresses on the fly and start new websites on the fly with a template I am real curious and interested. So any thoughts or experience with the Amazon AWS/EC2?

I had a vm running there for few months, I think its a bit expensive, I have also tried Rackspace, they are more expensive, lol, I guess it depends on your budget, when it comes to uptime, I suggest you stick with north american providers, that's my own advise.

May providers offer VPS service, its just a vm running somewhere in the cloud, if you care about security I suggest you look for cloudstack hosting or something similar, where you get to use Firewall , VPN, load balancing service ..etc.

currently I'm with a Canadian cloudstack provider, and I'm happy.
