Hello guys,

I've just done a course on affiliate marketing in general, I work day time and like to quite my job and start as an affiliate, I chose to work with amazon associates. I have few questions regarding amazon associates in general :

1) Does ranking on 2nd or 3rd page earn you money (niche site)?

2) My aim is to earn around $300 to $350 a month so what should be the total monthly searches for all my keywords or how much traffic should my site have to achieve that ?

3) No matter what product I choose there is already a good niche site, what are the disadvantages with it ?

Thank you.

You can still earn even if your site is on page 1 million, remember there are other ways to get targeted traffic. Social media for one.

1) You really want to be on page 1
2) $300 is easily achievable. The monthly searches cant be 1k if the product is high in price and converts well.
3) Obvious disadvantage is the competition.

You can make money from amazon in many ways. Think outside the box. Most of my sales actually comes from YouTube and facebook

1. If you're relying on SEO then you'll need to be on page one for some good buyer keywords.

2. There are alot of different variables to take into account so it's difficult to say. I recently built a site (in July) and it made $276 in August with about 5000 unique visitors. Your stats might be completely different though - depends on the price of the product you're promoting, how targeted your traffic is, quality of your pre selling, conversion rate etc.

3. You need to make a better site than your competitors and get more backlinks. Not every niche is highly competitive though.

01) If you are targeting Google traffic then you need to be among first 1-4 positions to start getting traffic and sales in Google local search. example if you are using Amazon.com then it's Google.com us search.

02) I don't think you can get an exact answer for this since it depends on your product, conversion rate etc. You might able to earn $300 with one keyword if your page rank top for something in high demand or you can use as many keywords as possible till your reach your target. My suggestion is start with keyword phrases which has less searches and low competition.

03) There are competitors for all niches out there. It's your job to find something less competitive and easy to rank. If search traffic doesn't work you can try social media traffic.

Good luck with your projects. :)
