Amazon Associates Newbie question..

Hi BHW fellows :)
I have question about Amazon Associates store..

Well..i just signed for AA account..and im wondering what is the best way to start selling stuff as AA affiliate...
I mean..should i set up my own website or just get free blog or something else..
I am pretty much new into Amazon and whatever tips you guys might have and want to share, i would appreciate it.

Ive been reading here about AA tips and tricks but most of them are outdated..

Doesn't really matter. You can use a free or self hosted blog (I'd prefer self hosted i.e. with a proper domain and hosting) and drive traffic to it.
You can drive traffic using SEO, Youtube anything.

Its all about traffic in the end.

I've seen people write reviews of products and drive traffic to them. You could try that.

Yes i was thinking about hosting it on my own..well ill get on work and do lil niche research! :)

There are a couple of nice E books shared in the Freebies section.

You can learn a lot from them.
 
I think you should also try yahoo answers + amazon affiliates :)

just look for some guys out there who are looking for links of products on amazon and link them that products with your affiliate ID :)

Just to give you a heads up...everything you earn doesn't pay out until 60+ days later so the quicker you get in the trenches the quicker you will get paid...
 
How did you sign up with AA without an established site? if you don't mind me asking.. Isn't it a prerequisite?

Well...i signed with Squidoo lens..and i got approved... now i have 3 sites running, bought domain and hosting...did market research, and let me tell you..i already got 40 bucks comission :)
i guess my method works :)
 
Good stuff, starting out is hard, after a couple months if your method is really effective your sales will pick up. Good luck!
 
I am not that lucky with Amazon. But I get some leads form their camera equipment products. That's really converting good. But not like professional. I don't know about the other products.
