Can you be both an Amazon associate/affiliate and an Amazon seller by doing FBA at the same time? I was promoting other products not related to whatever I'm thinking of selling but do not know if I am able to do both. Thanks

Yes, you can do both things at the same time.

Yes, we do this and have never had an issue. It's actually encouraged because Amazon wants brand/product owners to send more traffic to their site. It's the whole reason they created "brand stores".
