Mine just got approved recently. It took 2 weeks from the first sale.
They will look to make sure you're not using things that contain the amazon logo (eg. Buy now buttons that have the logo on them, unless they are amazon's approved buttons), that you have enough content, that you have the affiliate disclosure on your site.
