    Am I right?

I applied for an account for Amazon . com Associates 2 days ago. I received this email in advance:

I am waiting for the official approval status before I put my ref. links on my site. If the approval status bases on the first sale is true or not? What should I do now, to put my ref. links on my site or not yet?

    Thanks

Go ahead and add your referral links. You will be fine. I've ran a few affiliate websites and have always done this. Amazon used to review the websites and send the followup email much quicker but it seems to be delayed lately for some reason. If your website does not qualify for their network they will send you an email with an explanation (i've had this happen before).
