Amazon affiliates vs Clickbank

Thank you guys for your opinions!

Keep them coming :)

Clickbank if you are a scammer, Amazon if you actually want to sell legitimate products.

I prefer to be a decent human being and sell with Amazon. Also, the product choice is WAAAY larger on Amazon.
On clickbank, you have to base your content around the available products but on Amazon you can base your products around your content, which I prefer.

I don't understand the hate for CB to be honest. It's seems there's this ongoing hate for informational products overall as being scam. I do understand, that CB is full of garbage, but I also believe that there are good products as well. Otherwise, nobody would make any money and a lot of vendors and affiliates do somehow, even with all the refund policies n shit. So how is that a scam? I do agree that amazon has a more... legitimate authority let's say.

I partially agree with the content point of yours, but then again, given all of the super strict rules of amazon, you are a little bit of a prisoner of their rules. With CB you can still create content you like in the niche you like, which doesn't necessarily has to be around a product ( relationships for example ) and you can add products from different affiliate programs as well.

I personally tend to lean more towards CB, because being inexperienced af, those amazon rules just scare me and receiving life time ban, just because of some clumsy stupid mistake I will definitely make at some point doesn't seem very forgiving and appealing for a novice. I'd still like to do it someday though.

The majority of products on clickbank are either scams or shit products. They sell fake cancer cures, other disease cures, ''magic'' crystals and oils, shitty ''how to get rich in 7 days'' ebooks, ''how to lose fat in 7 days'' ebooks etc. It's all shit to take advantage for the gullible and stupid. I despise everything about clickbank. I recently got into a fight with someone on digitalpoint selling fake tinnitus cures. I pointed out how he is scamming money out of people who are literally terminally ill. He did not care one bit. He just boasted how much money that earned him and what car he's driving.

At least with Amazon you can be a respectable human being. BTW I literally drive traffic to my landing page with spam and have not had any trouble with amazon.

Anyways, that was a bit off-topic, just a bit of personal taste. I am sure that potential earnings with clickbank can be higher, technically speaking. From a technical standpoint, Clickbank is the better choice.

Well, to be fair, I agree with you on the moral stand point. I'm also kinda against people who bank on other peoples serious pains when they are in desperation ( given your cancer example ). But don't tell me amazon doesn't sell this shit either. 10 second amazon search reveals things as "Cure cancer with carrots" , "31 day home cancer cure" , "30 day diabetes cure" ( this one goes for whopping $44 for kindle). It also sells gazillion tons of shit products of shit quality that people buy and will continue to do so, because everyone, everywhere will try to look for a quick and cheap fix for their problem, whatever it is.

So I understand the point you are trying to make. Which is why I'm asking more in terms of being affiliate for either instead of comparing them with what they have in stock. It's kinda difficult thing to do too, since amazon is based mostly on physical products as opposed to CB :)

But thanks for you opinion, I enjoy that it's a thorough one!

P.S. I don't know about you spamming your landing page or how you meant it to say, but just in the other thread people are reporting getting banned because of using "legitimate" fast traffic service... It took sometime I guess, but it happened still, so you either understate the quality of what you are actually doing or you just lucky still.

But Amazon also has legitimate products, and that's the majority of their products. The same cannot be said for clickbank. If you wanted to sell affiliate scams, you go to clickbank, not amazon, because the commissions are much higher and they are much more tolerant of that shit. You go to Amazon if you want to sell legitimate stuff for the most part.

Also, clickbank are FULLY aware of their scammers. All their top sellers are scammers whereas they're really small guys on Amazon. At least they get shut off there on complaint.

I don't know, but it's been going on for a few months. Never had any repercussions.

Is there a reason as to why you are choosing those 2 particular networks?

There are many good points to take away from the answers. In particular for CB creating an email lander to warm your prospects up is a good tip.

One advantage I see with CB is the ability to pre sell with a free or very cheap similar product. If you are familiar with the niche you are going to promote it can be easy to create an informational product. Offer the product as an incentive to join your mailing list. Warm them up then offer the CB products.

I guess this can be done with Amazon as well but maybe more tricky depending on the niche.

However, creating a website and optimising the site with offsite seo to drive traffic is not that easy it will take time. PPC can be competitive but you could have a faster ROI at a higher initial cost and learning curve.

At the end of the day, the choice is yours. Amazon or CB, if done with patience, you should make a decent ROI.

As mentioned before, Amazon is of course going to have more products and more niches to choose from, so it's ideal for beginners. I consider myself a beginner, and my website includes both amazon and clickbank affiliate links. In the past 4 months I have only made money from amazon although I've had well over 100 hops for the product im marketing on clickbank.

With this being said, Amazon is a lot easier to start making money on, unless you truly know what you're doing with clickbank. People trust Amazon, so regardless of how established your website is, people are more likely to go and buy a product. Clickbank products, on the other hand, often throw buyers off because they are simply PDFs that can likely be accessed somewhere on the internet.

I truly believe that clickbank is a godsend once your website is established and getting a lot of traffic. I'm a novice myself in IM, but just judging by my current trends, I can confidently say that if you get your website in the range of 25,000-30,000 visitors a month while pushing clickbank products, then you will make money undoubtedly.

@Parios Not all CB ptoducts are shit. There are many decent too.

No one force you to promote any specific product there.

As an affiliate, your job is picking right product to promote in ethical way.

They have very vague terms and policies. They can simply say something like this "Your actions have breached our terms and policies. So we're removing you from the affiliate program"
And have you noticed this trend - For privacy and security purpose, we can't disclose the reason. This is the common line nowadays lol

Well, the only reason I'm choosing between these two options is because... well I have to start somewhere. And CB has no acceptance requirements, while amazon is generally recommended for beginners.

I'm going SEO route, because that's the thing I'd like to learn in the long run and everything else will build up along the way. I don't want to mess with PPC right away, because it's easy to burn money if you don't know what you are doing and I'm relatively on a low budget, but I do have time that I'm willing to dedicate.

I kinda finally came over my "overnight riches" and "quick fix" mindset, so even if it will take a years or two, I still think it's a valuable skill to learn and develop.

That's actually very common with e-commerce sites. When I used to do stealth ebay dropshipping, they would limit accounts and we called literally thousands of times and if you really wanted to discover the reason of the limitation from ebay, you had to push them very very hard. But 99% of the times they would not tell you shit.

The reason being is that they are very well aware that there are gazillion fake accounts and gazillion people trying different ways to bypass their TOS and by not telling they are minimizing the risk of such things. They are trying to avoid people who promote/sell in an unethical/illegal ways, but ordinary people get in the crossfire too.

Yes, genuine people suffer because of some unethical noobs.

SEO is a must for any website. It just makes sense, and helps keep your work relevant.

Online marketing takes time and not looking for riches overnight is a very wise approach.

Lay down your blueprint and follow it. Don’t just jump in and try to wing it.

Best of luck.

Amazon affiliate is the best when compared to clickbank. I always recommend amazon affiliate only.

Clickbank is easier to work with as long as your refund ratios are fairly good and you're able to hit your margins against your spend properly.

I have never sold affiliate programmes through Amazon Affiliates. I have through clickbank and I have always had good experiences with them. My advice if you are going with Clickbank is pick a indemand niche and make sure you have a good landing page which leads to your sales page. Make sure you have a good autoresponder and make sure you use software to track every click you get from your landing page all the way through to your sales page. Hope this helps.

Amazon is pretty good. But I would pick clickbank. Because there is plenty of easy products to make money with

Why not try both and come back with the results.

That way you will know more than before what is most viable and become an expert
in that field.
Not being detrimental in any way.
Just an idea.
Good luck and really hope it works out with what you decide.
