Amazon affiliates vs Clickbank

As the tittle suggests, I'm interested in your opinion as to which affiliate program is better ( in your opinion ) for a novice person to begin with?

I'm currently researching niches and I'm kinda stuck in terms of which way to go. Clickbank seems appealing due to their high commissions and bi-weekly payments, however amazon seems to have more authority and much much more products to choose from ( hence more niches? )

Which type of websites have better liquidity in terms of selling them?

Which do you prefer and why ?

I understand that with both types of websites there's a possibility to make money, but that's exactly the reason for this thread - why do you prefer one over another?

While I haven't tried ClickBank yet, Amazon has a very bad record of banning people for very small reasons. And they don't even give you 2nd chances of rectifying.

Have you experienced that yourself as well with amazon?
 
Depends on a lot of things.
Since you are a novice person, I'd suggest you go with Amazon.
Find a low-comp keyword and work on SEO.

Clickbank niches (with good gravity products) are very competitive in terms of SEO/PPC.

I've heard that about Adsense, but never Amazon. What are these small reasons they are banning for at Amazon?
 
You have to spend a lot of time on Amazon secrets, my friend. Maybe you can find Amazon seller community and ask about good conditions for you?

They have very vague terms and policies. They can simply say something like this "Your actions have breached our terms and policies. So we're removing you from the affiliate program"
 
Amazon pays you like 5% on the sale you generate, ClickBank offers pay you 50% all the way upto 90% on the sales you generate.

ClickBank pays you net 14, Amazon pays you net 60 I believe (like Google Adsense).

Personally I prefer CB all day baby! :)

That's precisely what attracts me to CB. Though, like Deleted member 923340 mentioned, it can be competitive when it comes to high gravity products. Not to say you cannot find good products on CB with lower competition, but it does require some thorough research, from what I've seen.

Do you personally have good/any experience with CB ?

I prefer CB for the same reason. Go for earning good amount of commission instead of earning peanuts from Amazon.... Both works though!
 
clickbank is the best, offers more commission than amazon. the products are easy to promote for those who are in cpa marketing like me. to make money with amazon it takes time, create a niche site with good content, have some basic knowledge on seo onpage, create quality backlinks for ranking the keyword on the first page, according to, my experience it takes a year for the results with amazon affiliate.

It's not very clear to me as to how exactly do you promote CB offers? I mean, what you outlined for amazon website sounds exactly the what people do to promote CB offers. How are you doing it differently?

I use landing pages to capture the email address of people interested in products with my traffic sources, I create a funnel to convince them to buy.
 
I love Clickbank but one thing I hate about Clickbank its liberal refund policy 60 days is too long for a digital product.Some people are expliot this loophole to get products for free at your marketing expense.
 
Both programs are good but you have to choose what's good for you.
Somehow i haven't done much of CB but the commission rate is tempting.
If you are a good internet marketer then i suggest you go for CB
and product with 50%+ commission.

On the other hand, i have done more of amazon and still do because i
earn 3 figures. It requires lots of content, good web design and traffic.
Amazon converts more because it's popular and people
can buy more than just the product that lands them on your site.
The commission is small 3% to 10% based on the product
but it does add up because of it popularity.

Well that's fair I guess. Do you use paid or free traffic? And which is better in your experience?

Is there a particular reason why you are the second person who mentions that for CB you need experience? I mean, there are ton of guides in this forum from people like mancar487 who promotes creating CB websites for newbies. Is it THAT difficult, you reckon?

With Amazon if you send the right traffic they are just going to hit the buy
button because it's a recognized brand.

While with CB people are particularly careful of scam, buying inferior product
and such thoughts. You the seller need to build trust with your list.
 
Amazon is king if you can convert your visitors following their TOS to the T.
They don't shave, no reason to.
