Amazon Affiliates special "locked in" commission rates - how much??

The largest Amazon Affiliate websites get an account manager, and they're usually protected from the affiliate rate cuts that befall the smaller players. Not just protected from rate cuts - they often get special higher rates, especially if they are driving massive traffic through PPC, etc.

Just by the numbers there are fewer large affiliate out there and they're probably not talking much... anyone ever heard what types of affiliate commission rates they're getting?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was niche-dependent. Maybe some are locked in at 8%, some 12%... any intel on this?

I doubt Amazon cares any damn about largest affiliate website.

Even largest affiliate websites just provides minuscule sales to Amazon.

I think they can f**k over even he biggest content websites cause income from them is so low..
If Amazon is one of the biggest search engines, then just dang...

Maybe they don't ultimately, but I know for a fact Amazon locks in higher affiliate rates for their biggest referrers.

I've spoken to one personally, and another big one was selling their site on Flippa and mentioned they had special rates. The one I was able to speak to, however, never confirmed what the actual preferred rates were, hence my curiosity.

What was the annual revenue of site selling on Flippa?

I don't think there are people with special treatment from Amazon in that regard.

Not sure where I heard it but Google is one of the biggest Amazon affiliates. Any site not being referred by aff links but comes from Google is commissioned to Google.

Now that I read it back, it sounds like a massive conspiracy but honestly I wouldn't be surprised.

Do you think a company having 280 billion dollars annual revenue cares about some affiliate website having 2-4 million sales.

Clearly that website owner was giving false info on flippa listing.

Yes, some affiliates have special rates. It is referred to as a "custom rate card." With some googling you can find bits and pieces of information, but I don't know the actual rates any of these people have. I believe there was a thread on BHW a couple months ago in which someone posted one and it was MUCH better than the standard rate card.

I'm not sure it is completely based on the size of the affiliate, but has more to do with how they are driving traffic. My sense was that people doing social media influencer stuff were more likely to get one. That said, I'm sure size plays a role also.

I would be really curious if people here have more information, but since very little turns up on this, I'm assuming the people who have them don't want to risk their accounts (I'm sure it's covered by a non-disclosure clause).

Here's a listing for an Amazon site that has (or claims to have) a custom rate card. I don't know why they would brag about this since Amazon usually ties these things to the account and not to the site, so it doesn't seem likely the new buyer would get the custom rates, but, whatever. Their sale I suppose.

Do custom rate cards still exist? Has anyone seen one lately?
