Amazon Affiliate Quick Question

So for my first IM attempt, I was thinking of creating a product review site of a particular product. I would then write articles, and then make videos promoting those products. I would have a link to my amazon aff. selling those products.

Is this something that is easy to succeed at for a newbie? I know it isn't easy, but is it straightforward, not alot of hidden tricks?
