Amazon Affiliate Program - Definite NO's Help!

Hi,

I have recently set up an amazon associates website, I was wondering what are the definite NO's when it comes to amazon, I'm aware of the following:

1. Cannot put the price of a product on your website.
2. Must add a Disclosure stating that you earn money when people buy through your affiliate links.
3. Do not use copy right pictures.
4. Use plenty of content, or amazon might reject

I know this is pretty basic, but the first one is a little shocking. I have just edited my website and removed all the product prices, Thank God it has not been reviewed by amazon yet or they would reject my application.

It would be greatly appreciated if an experienced amazon guy could chime in and lay down a brief list that all of us new comers can follow.

I run a bunch of affiliate websites with the price displayed just follow their TOS;

Product prices and availability may vary from time to time. Because prices for and availability of Products that you have listed on your site may change, your site may only show prices and availability if: (a) we serve the link in which that price and availability data are displayed; or (b) you obtain Product pricing and availability data via the Product Advertising API and you comply with the requirements set forth in the License Agreement that are applicable to that data. In addition, if you choose to display prices for any Product on your site in any "comparison" format (including through the use of any price-comparison tool or engine) together with prices for the same or similar products offered through any web site or other means other than the Amazon Site, you must display both the lowest "new" price and, if we provide it to you, the lowest "used" price at which the Product is available on the Amazon Site. You may not otherwise include price information on your site.


Don't send traffic directly from social media to your affiliate links
Don't use URL shorteners for your affiliate links

Here's a tip, don't buy stuff on Amazon with your affiliate cookie on your computer. This might seem obvious, but some other affilliates encourage you to buy stuff periodically. I just went through their TOS yesterday to make sure I was in compliance on all of my sites. Somehow I never realized that this: (Taken directly from amazon tos page)
" You must, however, clearly state the following on your site: "[Insert your name] is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to [insert the applicable site name (amazon.com, amazonsupply.com, or myhabit.com)]."
It took me a couple hours yesterday to go insert that sentence into all of my sites. I found affiliate sites I forgot I even had in this process!

I doubt you'll have trouble getting accepted into the program. I was approved a few years ago with a 5 page website that I would be embarrassed to even look at these days.

Is it okay to include a self made amazon logo with the BUY NOW button for every item? The TOS is confusing me!

I know that feeling

First, I'm not sure how thorough Amazon is in reviewing sites. I have a site in which I do list the prices - it's right up front on each post. My site was neither flagged nor banned. I was immediately approved.

Second, what do you mean don't send traffic directly from social media? There's a facebook and twitter share button on the SiteStripe. I think your information is a bit out of date.
