Amazon Affiliate - Need Guidance

I am just getting ready to apply for Amazon affiliate and am looking for some words of wisdom.

Are there any tips about the program you wish you knew before you started? (Tools, tips, links, ect...)

Is there anything that should be avoided?
Anything to make sure of?

I have been collecting notes during my research but just want to make sure I am covered on all bases.

From my experience, Amazon converts 'high buyer intent' keywords quite well.

How do you get these to rank? Publish lots of content that set up CONTEXT like how to's, Q+A posts, list posts, etc etc
 
I'd go ahead and apply, not like you have to start posting stuff right away. Take some time and look around and check out the program once you've signed in.

You'll be able to see how they give you pre-made banners and whatnot.
 
My serious advice would be don't focus on the price of the product, the profit can be good even with a $10 product. The only thing you should be focusing on is that your niche ain't seasonal. When I started my site I didn't knew about the seasonality factor. But I hope you won't repeat the same mistake. This is my first amazon affiliate site and it was good this year tbh! At least for me :)

Well! If you're low on budget then i know for a fact it will take 2-3 months for your website to come out of sandbox period.
My advice is just post content with low competition keywords for 3-4 months and only then you apply for amazon affiliate program. This way you'll get the enough time (6 months for 3 sales to get approved organically) to make keywords rank and drive traffic to your site. Anyway its upto you. It all depends on your budget, if you can post 20-30k words per. month then you go ahead and apply for the program.

+1.. Make sure you are posting enormous amount of content for low comp keywords...
 
Additional question, I have an Amazon affiliate account nearly one year. 5 figures income all fine. But now I will integrate two additional websites with different ID. I know they are not 100% to the Amazon policies. Do I risk my main account or just the additional ID after application fot the 2 new websites?
 
You can start right away, don't just abuse their links
 
I talked to the guy about these things some time ago, he said he made more money on small nuisances than on anything big. So chose some handy items. That's what I was told.

Any helpful guides you would recommend to get started from scratch ? Would be helpful :)
 
If your main traffic source is google. Then be sure there is no spammy links pointed to your domain.
