Amazon Affiliate Marketing: Using Youtube - Any tips on backlinking?

Hi. I'm pretty new to affiliate marketing but I have the basic ideas down. I am using Amazon Associates, and using a technique I learned from a guy named Jon Penberthy where you make a video relating to the keyword, then put your link in description.

So far, I have made 1 video trying to rank for a keyword, and left the video on a relevant Web 2.0 area (Reddit). I have gotten about 20 clicks just from that but no sales. I am also still not ranked for my keyword, despite my video title being exactly the keyword.

Any tips on how to generate more leads or rank better? What are some good places to backlink my youtube video and/or affiliate link. I've been thinking of trying Twitter and Yahoo Answers.

Any tips to get me my first sale?

Hi mate, with only 20 clicks i wouldn't be surprised if you had no sales. Not enough traffic.
From what i remember Yahoo answers used to rank really well but i dont think it has a great effect anymore.
I would suggest finding high ranking blogs, starting a blog of your own would be best, Theres a lot of help in here for blog related affiliating.
Facebook is also great with videos now and so is IG.

Agree that with 20 clicks is too little for sales. You need to test also few more videos. Now for ranking you should embed your video on some web 2.0 properties. Social signals in general and PBN links also helps.

Are you directly linking to Amazon through your video? I'm not sure Amazon allows that buddy. I hope you have a website or at least a landing page that you link to from YouTube first.

Yes forgot that one. Direct linking is not allowed so be careful with that. You can go through your website with eg pretty link lite.

i suggest you to make a landing page and then use that landing page to promote in your videos which will indirectly not expose the direct amazon affiliate link. so be careful with that as amazon affiliates are strict in banning.
