Hi there!

Are you allowed to post an amazon affiliate link within an almost irrelevant context?

for example.

entertainment blogpost


'' We are just all loving music, especially before falling asleep at night with [ /affiliate link] max volume earphones [ /affiliate link] is just awesome!''


so max volume earphones being a link to some amazon earphones for example.

yes you can, but if you put it in totally irrelevant text then you won't get many click or conversions

What URL shorteners are legal nowadays to shortner amazon affiliate urls nowadays, to make them usable for socialmedia , FB?

i'd say amznly website is this correct and legal?


EDIT : Any seem to suit aslong aslong as the original amazon URL pops up :)

as for shortening your links - it's allowed BUT! You have to ensure, that the referrer can be tracked back. You can find about this req. in the OA Participation Requirements page, bullet 30.
Clickable images - YES allowed
and your OP - YES too.

I recommend you to read trough the OA 2-3 times, and make sure you understand! It's not an easy read... I've gone trough it at least 5 times..:)

Do you by any chance know or remember what url shorteners work on facebook. just tested bitly and googled about it. which do work these days?
 
There was a discussion about it in other thread, i think the one which works in wordpress is Pretty Link. Other standalone shorteners I don't use so can't recommend any.

Amazons QA mentions that visitors have to be able to see that they are getting linked to amazon.
So putting an affiliate link to an irrelevant image or sentence in your blog post isnt really legal right, altho 80% + is doing this.

somebody's thoughts on this?
