Amazon Affiliate Journey to Stable $100/day

Hi folks,

Let me start by introducing myself...

I've been on the forums for a couple of years already. The last two-three years I haven't been very active. The reasons? I was living abroad for a while, traveling and studying. I'm also having a local media startup where I'm co-founder so this was taking most of my time during the last year. Now we got some people that took most of my work. Now I'm just taking care of bringing new clients. So got 4 hours per day to invest in this journey.

My background is very broad. My true nature is marketing and sells. That's what I've been studying, that's my role in the start up too. But I'm also a programmer, mainly getting work from word of mouth. Enough with me, lets get to the journey.

My Goals

A few days ago I sat down and asked myself "Where do you want to be in 3 years?". I want to be millionaire. And to be more specific...I want 5 million dollars in assets. Then I asked myself another one ... "Is everything you're currently doing taking you there?" The answer was no! So I backed up from 2 other projects I'm working on and started working on this journey.

The journey's gonna be tough and this is gonna be only the first part. Doing a simple math shows I need to make ~ $4500/day to reach my big long term goal. I prefer to keep it simple, one step at a time. So for now, my first milestone will be reaching $100/day.

I want to build a stable passive income network of websites, so I can turn them into a cash cow and invest into other ideas and businesses. I know it'll take some time to build and grow it.

The Plan

I'm going to target people at the end of their buying journey - when they're looking for alternatives and research. Making a review website with lots of good content, and ranking it on search engines.

Have already made a keyword research. The niche is with medium competition, there are two-three websites ranking on most of the phrases. Their websites have good on-page optimization but their backlinks profile isn't very strong. The total amount of exact match searches for my buyer keywords is ~ 17k/monthly.

So far I got half of the content ready. I'm writing it myself, in total I'll have around 20 product reviews and some in-depth articles in the blog which I'll keep posting every week or so. Will probably outsource these at some point. I'm also not a native speaker so will find someone on Fiverr to proofread my content to make sure its without any mistakes.

Most of the products are in the $200 - $500 price range so expect to get $15-25 per sale from Amazon when I reach the 6% commision.

The website is also ready, finishing some things on the design to increase conversion rates. Will setup A/B testing on the website from the beginning to constantly improve the conversion rate so I can maximize the profit from the website.

SEO Strategy

Tier 1

• Quality Web2.0s
• Social Signals;
• Niche authority (research from competitors).

Tier 2

• PBN service to web2.0s;
• Web.20 with spinned content to web2.0s;
• Url shorten web2.0s.

Tier 3:

• GSA and scrapebox blast to tier 2

Will try to keep the tier 1 web.20s updated once in a while with fresh content to increase the link juice. There are some tools which makes managing web2.0s really fast. I want the website to last for as long as possible once I rank it so I can focus on the next one without spending too much time maintaining. Hopefully if everything goes well, I'll get a VA to manage the websites and outsource most of the work - link building and content writing.

Basically that's my plan. So far have spent money only on hosting and domain, like $40. Will try to keep the thread updated at least twice per week.

Its been almost two weeks and its time for update.

I'm finished with the content. All of the review pages are with 600-800 words each. Still have to write the in-depth articles though.

Have been playing a lot with the website. The WordPress theme I'm using is with multi-purpose design because of which changes take a lot of time. This is something that I'll definitely keep in mind for my next website - to use simple theme that is easy to edit (the code I mean). I'm very picky when it comes to design so that took two days to complete. Now its looking good and I feel confident that if I was looking for a review, I'd trust the website which is a green light for me.

I've created a silo structure since the niche allows it. Removed all unnecessary pages and links from the theme and interlinked the pages based on the silo structure (I'm using virtual silo structure and think that long URLs aren't user friendly and crawlers are smart enough to figure out the virtual silos).

Through the process of designing the website and writing the content, I've gained more knowledge of the niche and my competitors. Their websites are well optimized but their link profiles aren't that strong - not many backlinks according to OPE and Majestic. Also lots of their links are spammy. Now I feel confident that I'll be able to rank for keywords with more monthly searches. So there's a small change of plans. In stead of just trying to rank only the review pages, I'll go also for keywords like best product category, product category reviews and product name review. This increases significantly the value of what I'm doing and therefor my motivation to succeed.

I've setup all basic stuff - Analytics, sitemaps, on-page SEO, Search Console. Also implemented heatmap for cursor tracking. I know its early and don't have traffic yet but its good to have it setup so I don't have to think about it and focus on link building and creating content. Wasn't able to find a free option to run A/B tests so if anyone can recommend such service, I'd be very thankful.

Now what?

I have a few more hours work on the website. Have to finish two more pages and its all setup. I've denied crawlers access to my website until everything is set up and tomorrow will open it so it can be accessed from them. Will leave it for a few days, maybe a week until I start building links. Meanwhile I'll start creating the web2.0s, post some content (without linking), write bios, change design, etc. so I can make them quality ones. Will start posting comments on niche authority websites to build authority so I can easily pass my links afterwards. After my website is online for a while, I'll slowly start to dripfeed social signals.

That's my plan for now. Documenting everything here helps me stay focused and organized which is something I usually struggle with. I'm finally back to this stage where I wake up thinking about the website which for me is a sign that I'm highly motivated and on the right track.

I got the best news in the first hours of the new year. After two weeks of not showing up anywhere in SERPs now 9 of my keywords appeared.


This week I've built two expired Web2.0s with PA >35, filled them with content - 2 articles of 500 words, some images and video posts for each property. Also created several no-follow links from high DA doc sharing websites and profile links for diversity and indexation.

I found a service in the marketplace forum for tiered link building that I'm gonna order and point to the Web2.0s. Will drip feed it for 10 days and I expect to see some movement from it.

My goal for this week is to build 8 more expired Web2.0s and finish the infographic I plan to use for outreach to bloggers in my niche. Trying to make it high quality one so I can get higher success with it. Scrapped around 70 blogs that I can send it to.

A few weeks past since my last update. I'm still working on this journey.

Here's a little update on what's going on:

• Built some web2.0s and blog comments, profile links and directories for diversity.
• Did outreach for the infographic but with no success. I contacted around 25 bloggers with follow up emails and everything but only 1 published it
• Purchased some tier 2 links that point to my web2.0s but still haven't seen any significant results. I'm still waiting for one of the services to be completed.
• Did more keyword research and found some low competition keywords that I'm preparing content for.

Currently most of my keywords are on page 2 and 3. I think that I can improve my money making website a bit. Today I added more content to 2 of the pages and from 500 words they now have 1000 words. Will wait a few days to measure the results and if they improve a bit, I'll add more content to the rest of the pages.

I'm sticking with my initial plan - building links and constantly adding content to my website. As soon as I have enough money to invest, I'll try to build my own PBN but currently don't have any to spend.
