Hey everyone,

I've been a member of blackhatworld for a few months now.
So, I started an Amazon affiliate website this year in January.
I had already bought the domain in December last year.
I started putting content on it in January. So far I have 23 articles. Around 8-9 buying articles and rest of them informational.
I keep my word count 1500-3000 for buying articles and 1000-1500 for informational articles depending on the topic but i think i did some newbie mistakes like not choosing low competition keywords that will affect the initial growth of the website.
It's been almost 4 months now and i have not started getting any traffic yet.
I hope to start seeing initial traffic after the site gets 6 months old i.e. 1.5-2 months from now.
I want to reach $1000 per month with this website.

I will keep updating as i see progress.

This is just to keep myself motivated.

Edit: I forgot to mention that i also have got an SEO package from @newkid...

I hope you are aware of commission cut by Amazon. I also started a project in January, but now I don't invest that much time in it with these cuts. By the way, what service you use for tracking keywords, and keyword monthly searches?

You got this keep us updated!
thanks! I will keep updating weekly once I start getting traffic.

Amazon affiliate website at this time after they have cut competition does not sound very wise.
I started it before all this happened. but anyway, once the site kicks off, I will probably switch to some other affiliate in the same niche as most of the products in my niche are also available with other affiliates who are still providing great commissions

As mentioned in the above comment, I can switch affiliate programs once I start getting traffic. and currently, I'm using semrush to track keywords.
anyway, how is it going for you? have you started getting any visitors?

I heard that Amazon completely stopped their program for Indian YouTubers.
I wasn't aware of that, anyway I'm targeting the US audience.

I follow it with curiosity. I hope you reach your goal

Try to do the research now, find what kind kw detected from your article who is the cimpetitor. Can you compete. How much traffic potential you have. Than you can try to make support article to support you main kw on the article

Good luck with this. Amazon can give decent passive income.

I'm trying to target more low completion keywords, I have already started working on some "vs" article, where we compare 2 products, I've heard that they are easy to rank for most of the times. Let's give it some more time.

Thanks. that's what I want to do, after this website starts doing good, I will be doing more micro niche websites.:)

Hello everyone, It's been a long time since I updated this journey.

It has been little more than a 6 months now since I created this website.

As I expected, the website started getting some traffic just after 6 months of creation.
It is now sitting at 65000 words and ranking on first page for 2-3 low volume keywords.

So, few weeks ago I also got a niche edit link. It instantly started showing results and my website went from 1-2 visitors per day to 12 per day. But soon after a few days, it declined and I started getting around 10 visitors per day. Which is okay with me and I know It is not a big difference. It's still better than 1-2 visitors per day.

I'm posting around 15000 words per month. After I reach 100k words, I plan to post 1-2 posts per week.

Let's come to the point now. $$

I've made 3 sales so far. all these sales happened in past 2 weeks.
The products I'm promoting are quite expensive. So, I'm sitting at $27.35 with 3 sales.

Cherry On The Cake

One of my product review article got shared on the product company's page today, and suddenly saw 300+ visitors in one day.
I'm not sure if I've got any sales today. It will be updated tomorrow on amazon.

I'll keep updating the thread as I progress.

Update

Traffic(300+) from yesterday's social share didn't convert well because user intent was not to buy.
Only one new product ordered so far. Lesson Learned

Posted 5 new articles(10,000 words)

Ordered: 2 Niche Edits

Let's see how it goes. :)

Do you sum up your investment? How much did you invested by now? articles, backlinks, etc.
As I mentioned I started my little project in January, I have by now over 200k words posted. I did some mistakes myself too. I started to have some revenue, but I'm still in doubt if I will recover my investment or not. My investment by now is like 3k+ and monthly aff income 100+. I'm curious regarding your journey and how it goes. Hope you'll do better than me.

My total spending till now:

Domain: 3$
Hosting: 8$
Plugins and Themes: By @Festinger

Content: Around 550$
Links: 322$

Total Investment: 883$

Profit: 28$

Let's see how long does it take me to recover all this.

I hope to recover the investment by this December. But, I won't be sad if it takes 1-2 more months.

If you don't think you can recover the money by amazon earnings, you can sell the site for more.
Personally, I plan to scale this website and make it an authority in the future when I have the budget.

Anyway, how much traffic are you getting daily?
