Hi all,
I'm new to all this but I've been reading about Amazon Affiliate marketing and I'd just like to run an idea past you all. I am a beginner though and this idea maybe flawed, if not I maybe stupid to publicise it, but in asking and finding that out I'll learn something.
So, from my understanding when someone receives your amazon cookie it remains for 24 hours. The idea is to obviously have as many people who are interested in buying from amazon to have your cookie in their computer.
I looked at targeting certain keywords and I wondered why no one, besides amazon, uses "Amazon"? That keyword has the highest amount of traffic and that traffic specifically wants to visit Amazon and probably wants to buy something. It seems quite cheap too, averaging at a £0.07 - UK per click price.
If 100 people visit amazon, costing you £7 what % end up buying something? 20% 10%
Of those people what's the average purchase price? £50?
So, if 20% of those 100 - 20 people, buy something on average at £50 and you receive the lowest commission rate of 1.5% for indirect purchases you receive £15...? If it's 10% at £50 then it's £7.50 back - a small profit, but that doesn't matter because you can scale. Obviously my numbers maybe flawed.
Interested to hear your comments.
