Hi everyone! I am going to start a journey that isn't done too often, I don't think. What I am going to attempt to do is make money from the Amazon Affiliate program, by way of an Amazon aStore generated and placed on weebly so that I can have a custom domain and all that kind of stuff. I currently have a 9-5 job, so I'm ok with the shitty net 60 that the Amazon affiliate program does. It will suck until I get my first payment, then it will be amazing.

My method of driving traffic here in the beginning will be doing CPC from the Bing Adcenter, because it doesn't cost too much for the keywords I am targeting. My niche is outdoors items, so hopefully I won't get lost in the sea of people trying to promote electronics on Amazon affiliate. I have ranked an Amazon affiliate store before on Google using SAPE, but it didn't last, partly because I didn't optimize and continue posting relevant content, but also because I believe that Google hit me for being an affiliate site. who knows. That isn't relevant anyway.

I don't have a monetary goal at the moment, because I don't want to set an arbitrary goal, achieve it and then stop. I want to push and keep going until I've hit the ceiling.

Let's get to it guys! I'll be updating this thread regularly, likely once a day or every other day if things don't get in the way.

Day 1:
1. Made the store
2. Put it on Weebly
3. Did title tags, description, keywords, installed Google Analytics, etc.
4. Created a campaign on Adcenter
5. Now, it's time to go to bed and hopefully wake up to some activity :)

See you guys soon, and stay tuned!

Good luck, it is always good to be innovative. Eager to see how it all goes for you.

Thank you, I'm hoping it'll work out well. So far, I have had 8 people click my ad and come to my site. I've spent $0.81 so far. Sadly, I can only find out if they converted the following day, since Amazon Affiliates doesn't update but once every 24 hours, so it's always a day behind. Hoping to see good results tomorrow.

Looking forward to your journey. Glad to see a different approach here!

this one seems interesting bcoz if you can make conversions on weebly then im sure you will succeed with your plan.

Interesting plan. Any reason in particular you're using an aStore for though? You'd probably get better conversions with wordpress and a custom theme.

Not necessarily, it's just incredibly easy to set up. I wanted to use WP Zon, but I don't want to pay $100 lol.
I have honestly never used Wordpress, except for a little blog I used to think I was good at. I have heard that aStores aren't that great at converting, but I guess only time will truly tell. Anyone have evidence to back up that claim?

Also, anyone have any ideas about ways to drive laser targeted traffic at the site, other than cpc?

Update: So, I sent around $1.20 worth of traffic from Bing ads to my site and it yielded a total of 9 visitors and 2 clicks on my affiliate links. Not too good, and not nearly enough volume to warrant any sort of conclsuion.

In the mean time, I moved my site away from weebly and on to a custom host, so that I can edit the HTML of my site. By doing this, I have added Web2Rule on my site and am hoping that driving that sort of traffic will rank me. I think bing will become too costly and too much to manage in a short while. Plus, ranking will be a true test of this niche and it'll be much better profit wise. I have paused bing ads while I wait for some sort of possible rank increase, but we will see what happens.

It'll probably take a few days for something, if anything, to show up from Web2Rule, but so far my Google Analytic site stats look great.

Here's to hoping it works

No real change today, sadly. Didn't get any more conversions or anything. Hopefully I can get this site ranking, and maybe see some sort of earnings that way. Just sucks because of the shitty net 60 from Amazon affiliates. Each day that goes by is still pushing that payday back. Either way, I'm staying positive

Are you still pursuing this? Your updates seemed to have... stopped.

Looking forward to your response.
