Yes, i don't know it Amazon is working fine for others but for me, it sucks! I have a laptop review site with some 500 UVs daily but rarely sell any laptop. The overall conversion is some 0.5% for all items sold.
Can any one share you experiences how to increase the conversion with selling laptops on Amazon?

Yesterday, i just sold an Asus laptop for $1,799 but only received $25.00. The Advertising-Fee Rate is ONLY 1.39% :(
Thanks.

Thats the max for electronics on amazon. The main things you should look at first is your article calls for action, and buttons etc, and what your visitors are expecting to find when they arrive. Are they actually laptop buyers? (for you to find out)

Use a mouse spy heatmap analytics plugin to see how visitors are interacting and make the required changes depending on what they do.

Maybe you should change your call to action, reduce the amount of outbound link and bring more focus on the download button. You should convince them of buying.. 0.5% is very very low IMO, I think that can easily be doubled if you give your content and design some attention. And just like Panther28 said a heatmap is very useful.

Yes thats sucks for the payout is little. But it is Amazon, it a branded name that is good to tag to. Beside solely promoting just amazon products, do add adsense, cpa, cb links too.

Yea, look at your call to action. When I was a noob I had a fitness equipment review site and I was using the default template for Amazon Simple Admin for my affiliate links. It looks nice showing thumbnails, price, ratings, and purchase links that I thought were pretty obvious but I had a conversion was even worse than yours. I edited the code to add a large "click here to purchase" button and my conversion rate shot up to 8% on that alone.

This must be your content. You have to focus your visitors more into buying the product through your website rather than learning about it.

Couple Things :

1. I always tell people to do anything but electronics as each sale is limited to $25 -- to me this is a waste of time.

however in my thread a couple people said they didn't care because they sold so many items - which in their case was mobile phones.

2. It's never the case that 100/100 Affiliates are happy with any program ... however you have to work within what you can do to increase your Sales - and that's probably what your going to have to do in this case.

3. Being a successful Amazon Affiliate means not bothering ranking for Keywords like "Laptops" "Dell Laptops" or general keywords - it requires specific targeting for people looking for specific features where you stand some chance of selling something to them in 24 hours.

Summary : If you want to stay in electronics - find better more specific buying keywords // better tracking // check your customizations.

Make a review site for plush toys and you will bank on it. get away from electronics unless you have 10K uv/day :)

These are high cost electronics, which are bought rarely instantly through a link. You can try more with laptop accessories, as they are frequently searched and bought. Which brings me to the content. Your niche is laptops, dont just focus on selling laptops. Focus your articles in such a way that it goes into specific keywords like "macbook accessories" or something like that. The conversions will be higher and people will buy these almost instantly. Although the payout is low, the higher conversions will slowly become better.

Electronics are capped at 4%, laptops at 4% no more than 25$. If you will sell a TV for 2000$, your commission will be 80.00$.
Other than this, it's clear that something happens there. Bad content might be, not targetted "buying keywords", you should check you CTR ( from website to Amazon to see how many of your visitors are really interested to buy ), etc.

There are many people making xx.xxx/month so definetely Amazon works :)

Thank you all my friends for your helpful advices and ideas. I would definitely try to enhance my site based on your suggestions. I hope I will bank with Amazon soon.
Cheers,:D
