Amazon $1000 Let's Go

Quick update:
Blasted through one of my benchmark goals. Over 5000 products now.
Goal by the end of the year is 10K products. Much farther along than I thought I would be at this stage.
No first page rankings at this point. No second page rankings yet. No third page rankings yet.

If it's not the sandbox then it's a bit of a head scratcher, but given how new the site is, I just have to give it time. Today makes the site 2 months old.
On another note, I have not had another 130% conversion rate day. Note.. thought it might be a fluke "and it was", but hey I'll take it.
Only averaging at this point, 25 to 30 clicks a day. Within that click range, I'm seeing 1-3 conversions every 1-2 days.. actually saw 4 today (it's not exact, but what I'm stating is an approximation of the frequency of the conversions).

So far I have not reached a level of "daily" conversions.

Update 2/15

So I had a bit of a hiccup over the last few days. In trying to add a more relevant tracking ID for Amazon, I think I broke the tracking somehow and probably lost some money in the meantime. Interestingly enough, you can't have more than one store ID no matter how many websites you have which seems dumb to me but it is what it is and since the site (in terms of category) is different the one I had originally set up when my associates account was approved, I thought hmmm.. let's make a tracking ID more relevant to the ecommerce store I am developing now.

Long story short, I am almost certain that whatever I did, didn't work.

So after initially wondering if it worked and then ultimately finding out that it didn't after basically what amounts to 3 days, I reverted everything back and this also involved making changes to links as you can imagine too. It was a big headache but everything is all good now "I think".

Started to see conversions return to my dashboard again so that was a big sigh of relief. Even saw a CPA commission today in the last half hour as well for $80.

In other news on the site, I've crossed 6400 products to date.

Additionally, the best single month payout so far will be on my next payout from Amazon at just over $200. Still adding content and that's going to be an ongoing aspect of the project. I'm still far off from my goal of a single month payout of $1000 but it's still early in this journey.

Why don't you use cj.com as affiliate network. They have 10 times more commission than Amazon

Why don't you use cj.com as affiliate network. They have 10 times more commission than Amazon
I plan to build this out to incorporate other affiliate programs but for now Amazon is my primary. I know it's not good practice to basically place all your eggs in one basket but looking at the long term plan for the site, it will most certainly not be limited solely to Amazon alone. I do have an account with CJ as well but incorporating those products "if that is a route I choose to pursue" will come with time. I'm also working to figure out the best way to lay out other products in a way that is going to provide a better user experience as they navigate a page that will look a bit different than the other product pages that are already on the site at this time.

2/27 Update:

Well I thought it would take me until the end of the year to get to 10k products, but since I'm basically eating, sleeping and breathing adding products on the site, product totals have now surpassed 12,000 products. So I am way ahead of my target goals concerning the addition of products. I'm also incorporating content goals but the addition and development of content is still a work in progress.

The site is 3 months old at this point and I'm seeing less than 10 visitors a day from what I've tracked between the different webmaster consoles that are connected. Looks like Google still has it's foot on my neck but I'm hopeful that the site traffic will pick up over the next few months. Still no where near my earnings goal but we'll see how things go as I continue to work through the site development. That's all for now.. until the next update.

3/7 update:

In the last 30 days, I've only had 12 sales... not exciting at all, but I guess I shouldn't complain too much since GSC is showing me this:

1615115588798.png

That's over the last 3 months so given that I've still made sales when clicks have been slow to produce, that may be the consolation here.

Bing on the other hand seems more favorable. The site is fairing better in this engine, but obviously my prime target is Google, but I'll take the traffic where I can get it.

1615115784213.png

I've also got over 30k words of content and over 12k products, but again still nothing to brag home about on performance. Not expecting any significant movement til this summer and that's still with fingers crossed so until then I'm going to keep grinding away. All is not too bad though.. still did an additional $160 in other affiliate marketing in the last 30 days and Amazon paid me an additional $200 from other monies owed to me this month too.. but the next few months from Amazon will look like a skeleton until this thing picks up I'm sure.

Brief 3/22 update:

No new financials to report but I am on track to surpass 30k products this week. Sounds crazy, but I'm starting to think it might not be unreasonable to target 100k products by the end of the year at this rate if all continues to run smoothly. Needless to say, it's a bit of a money pit for now but you've gotta spend it and be willing to lose it to make it ($$$).

Experiencing a wild Google dance at the moment. Google has indexed just shy of 10k pages on it's own.. haven't attempted to force any indexing. Moved the site over to a dedicated server which turned out to be a great move since page speed is now Grade A 96%.

Continuing to grind away at this. 4 months in and it feels like it's never going to take off but I have to remind myself it's still baby butt new and Google is trying to figure out where rankings should settle in. Not sure when that's going to happen yet so all I can do is keep building in the meantime. Traffic is still pretty abysmal at this point which sounds crazy given all the keyword optimization I've done and pages indexed but folks that is how it goes with a new domain. Looks more and more like Google isn't ready to let me out into the wild yet.

Until next time.

3/28 update.

While the move to the dedicated server was absolutely needed, it did not come without it's downsides so it wasn't all great news. Seems like I've lost some of my indexed pages. Surely this is due to the migration. Still losing pages and hoping nothing was broken during the move. I'm still getting some traffic which is a plus, but clearly I'm discovering some things that come with site migration that was I was not aware of before.

A little good news: it was encouraging to see this week that one day I received 92 orders out of 16 clicks or visits to the site for that day so my clickthrough rate was through the roof.. something crazy like 550% CTR and then the next day there was another 5 orders. Looks like that was mostly through social traffic according to my analytics. Now don't get me wrong, I know that is not typical but again it's some encouragement for the path forward as I continue to grind through this project. Certainly wouldn't mind seeing 100 orders a day.

On another note, I'm not seeing much organically yet, but I'm hopeful that will come with time. I'm seeing more through Bing interestingly enough, Yahoo and trickles through Google. Starting to see a little from Facebook, getting impressions through Pinterest and I've only received a few retweets in Twitter.

As for my product update, as I said in my last post I thought I would surpass 30k and I am indeed beyond that mark at this point.

Until next time.

ONE PRODUCT MILESTONE ACHIEVED ! READ BELOW

Big Day today: Surpassed 50,000 products ! (think I might give it a rest for a minute and then resume and keep the development of the site pushing forward.. who knows :)) Today feels great anyway that I've reached a "major" milestone that I didn't think was remotely possible at this point so early into the year and this journey. Just keeping my mind open to what is possible moving forward.

Nowhere near my financial goal but in the meantime I'm just going to keep grinding it out.

Getting orders some days and on others I'm not. It's kinda nuts on how absurdly slow this process has been concerning the search engine visibility and clicks but that's the price you pay when you start fresh with a new domain. Not sure how long this sandbox thing is going to last but I'm hopeful that it won't last the whole year (that would suck !).

Anyway, just wanted to share the good news in this update. Hope you all have a good Easter this weekend !

So in my last thread where I made a little money with CPA through Bing Ads, I inadvertently started to make some money with Amazon. Made some mistakes that led me to start a new site. The site I'm developing is just under 2 months gold and has thousands of products on it so far. My goal is to get it to 10k products. I actually believe that it can be done before the end of 2021.

The site still feels like it's in the Google sandbox but hopefully once Google sets it free it will take off ? Who knows.. we'll see how this journey goes.

Journey goal: Amazon $1000 payday.

Right now that doesn't even seem remotely possible, but I'm willing to grind away and stick with it.

Yesterday's stats: 20 clicks, 26 orders 130% conversion. Then there's today... 1 sale.. just shaking my head, but again.. the site is still only 2 months old soooo it's still encouraging but hoping to see this take off sometime in the next 6-12 months. I need prayers, coffee (gotta have that whip cream, carmel, sugar) and some luck !
Good luck mate!
Btw can you send a website link?

Sorry won't share the link but if you have any questions regarding a similar journey, I'll see what I can do to assist you. Always willing to try to help out a fellow member here.

This is awesome mate, 50,000 Products up on your site! Congratulations! Just curious, when you say 50,000 products, are you putting up 50,000 individual product pages with full custom written descriptions, review, keyword optimization per each page. Or are you just pulling in all of this data via plugins like "Amazon Product in a Post" or "Affiliate Egg Pro". Also, how many words are you working with for each page? I know more is typically better, but just wanted to hear your thoughts. Also, do you have any of your keywords in the Top 5 on Google SERPS as of yet?

Thank you for your kind words, 50k products seemed soooo out of reach... heck I thought it would take me until December 2021 to get there. Now I wonder if 100k out of reach.. maybe not ? I'll just take it one day at a time. More products means more space on my server and more to pay for as far as backup storage so at some point I know I'm going to slow things down a bit but for now, I'm in the mindset of build and grow, build and grow ya know. Actually thought I'd be able to take some time off after the milestone, but nah.. that's not happening. Gotta do whatever it takes to reach my journey goal.

As for the products, each product has it's own page (of course there's some automation.. could never achieve this manually in the timeframe I have so far). No reviews on each page. didn't feel that was necessary but there are product descriptions on each page. Depending on the product, there's anywhere from a paragraph all the way to 300 words or so. That's in addition to the additional near 50k words of content that I have amassed on the site (all original content, nothing spun) as far as well in other content (topic focused (keyword optimized and researched) between 1-2k words per topic).

At the beginning when I didn't know what I was doing (maybe.. very rough estimate 1.5 months in) I wasn't keyword optimizing the product categories as much as I should have been but that didn't take me long to figure that out so now categories are researched before they are made and now they are keyword optimized.

As for the serps.. nothing in the top 5.. The sandbox is in full effect but as much as it sucks, I will wait it out for as long as it takes because the work and time invested thus far is absolutely disgusting but it's what it requires. It's akin to building a brick and morter business. If this was a building, I'd be there day and night. That's how it feels with this project. Averaging several hours a day working on it adding when I'm not spending time with my family or doing my full time job stuff as well.

Hey @bhcg101, I like your comparison to brick-mortar business. It really helps put things in perspective. Yeah, for my own site/journey I think that I’ll continue posting some fresh content here and there while I also wait for the sandbox period to conclude. Thinking a post a week type of content for now. It will tell Google that the site is very much still active and getting updated regularly.

As for your content, that’s some good stuff man, keep at it. Definitely don’t want to have your content be too thin. 300-500/words per page is a good start. I would personally aim for 1500 words per page to help beat out the competition, but if 300-500 works for you, then keep plugging away.

Just curious, are you doing any back linking? I’ve been seeing some improvements over the last month or two as the back links to my own site age a month or so. In fact, lately I have been getting quite a bit more impressions as well as organic clicks to my site. I believe that for my own site, the things that are driving the whole get-out-of-the-sandbox thing are as follows.

1. Articles are coming of age
2. Backlinks are starting to kick in
3. Low competition levels for some keywords.
4. I’ve also auto posted all my posts to Facebook, Tweeter, Instagram & Pinterest. I believe this is also helping with the sandbox.

See image below for a visual of the steady organic growth.

Wow, good luck with your adventure.
I also started a little business with Amazon, but affiliate payouts are really low to be honest... let's see
Yes, amazon has low commission, and that is why i promote to get free traffic for better ROI

@Goro333 Perspective is a powerful thing and in this case makes the whole process much more tangible and easier to understand through each day it seems challenging when the success you’re after hasn’t actually been realized yet.

As for content, yes I agree.. it will definitely send signals to Google and keep the crawlers all over your site and that’s what you want as often as possible.

Each product has some thin content, but there are over 50 articles in a separate section that range from 1000 to 2000+ words of content. Some of these articles are also inner linked to other pages in the site as well.

With respect to backlinks, absolutely I’ve got that going on too. Quite a mix but all good neighborhood type links with a focus on diversity and authority.

I also have accounts set up on Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram and some signals going to Facebook too.

Looks like you and I didn’t start that far apart.. I started on Nov. 9th and it looks like you started earlier Dec. and our stats aren’t way off as well from what Google analytics are reporting in terms of traffic over time.

Note: also bear in mind concerning my stats, I had to migrate to a new server so I lost my progress for a few weeks before it started to recover. I'm finally starting to see a "bit" of an uptick now.

Good luck. I actually have been doing only clickbank so far, doing really good, but recently started my first site based around Amazon to test. Actually many people underestimate it due to the low % commissions, but the more content, the more commissions you will get, furthermore then you can sale the site for a good price. There are many untapped niches on Amazon, that can be dominated.
