First about what I bring to the table. I am a professional web developer. I know everything from html to php well. I have created sites with databases of more than 20 million records which run well under pressure to my own CMS system similar to Joomla from scratch. I code fast, I know what I am doing, and build solid sites.

Here is my proposal...I have my own projects, but this got this idea from something I read a while ago. I am willing to spend 48 hours straight of coding and designing any idea you have for exchange of 50% of any revenue the site makes. I will handle any and all testing, maintenance, and upgrades on it. I can build alot in 48 hours and incorporate alot functionality. For example I could easily build a site like fiverr from scratch in 48 hours. And dont worry I already have dedicated servers and domain is on me.

Here is what I want. I want a fresh idea...something new, something people can get hooked on, and something that has PURPOSE and VALUE.

Also here are the 3 things I want in a business partner.

1. You have TIME to market it...sorry if you have a full time job + kids + etc then you probably dont have time to dedicate to it.
2. You must have some experience in marketing, experience doesnt mean you read a bunch of threads...I will show you what I have made.
3. You must be in the US...if I am spending 2 days straight of hard work we need to live in the same country so we have a paper contract which means something.

PM me if you are interested.

Why would I not just hire a programmer instead of doing a JV? What else do you bring to the table?

I actually think this is a great offer. Programmers can be expensive and there is a chance that the idea won't pan out so you can lose hundreds of dollars. I don't think he needs to bring anything else to the table and I think your post is out of line.

My normal rate is $50 per hour coding. I am a US coder who has experience, therefore $2400 of my time is going into this. Furthermore, I am providing hosting (up to the dedicated server level), domain and constant support which is worth alot.

Yes you could hire a professional coder and wait a few weeks, pay $2K+, pay for hosting, domain, and continually re-hire for maintenance as all site need bugs fixed etc for much more. Also I guess you could hire someone from oversees but those weeks will turn into months and I there will more bugs than one can count if you are hiring a coder who charges "$5" an hour.

My post wasn't meant to be an attack. I honestly want to know the reason why I'd want to split my profits with him rather than hiring a programmer. I think that's a legitimate question...

Thanks for the negative rep...

You honestly considered that a legitimate question? I am not here to start a fight in some guys Join Venture thread, but you must be joking if you truly believed that was a legitimate question. He very clearly explained in his opening thread what he offers, if YOU can't see the value in it, he shouldn't have to sell you by offering something else.

Do you have $1,000+ to invest in a random idea you have? If so, this JV is not for you. This JV is for someone with a great idea, who doesn't have the money to invest in a programmer/web developer. It is a very great offer if the guy can come through and deliver on his work. If you didn't mean it as an attack, you need to choose your words a lot more carefully. Your "question" was completely bogus.

Whoa lol. Don't wanna jump in on an heated argument, but IMO GimmeMoney was just asking a question and you attacked him.

I thought it was a legitimate question as well. Was going to ask the same thing lol.

Anyone with a good idea tho, would never want to split profits 50 50 as 48 hours is just 48 hours, while the other perosn is stuck marketing the idea for who knows how long. And it is there idea. Sounds like a bad business idea for anyone with money, but a good idea for someone who has an idea but no money to pay for a programmer.

So, I see both ways, but I dont think GImmemoney was trying to put anyone down. Just simply asking a legitimate question.

You guys are crazy in my opinion. Anyone who has ever had to hire a coder or web designer/web developer knows how expensive things can be. You can pay $1500 to get your idea brought to life, but what happens when a major bug or change in code needs to be done the day before your launch?

The value of having a coder/developer on your team is INFINITE. This is like the holy grail of offers in my opinion. I hope a lot of people understand that having a very good coder on your team is worth MORE than 50% profits because when things go wrong and you need an emergency fix, another coder might charge you thousands of dollars and in this case you will get it free.

Other than JV, are you interested in doing coding work? If yes, pm me. I am looking for some good coder.

I had thought he was doing coding then leaving the project. If he is continuously working on the project, then it is a different story.

Yes I will be there for the life of the project for any and all upgrades, bugs which come up, etc...especially if it returns any profit I will make time in my schedule to make it better.

I just have a very busy schedule due to my job schedule, therefore, I cant recreate facebook or something with a million features and tons of user preferences.

I understand there is alot of debate about if it is worth it...let me put it this way, I will be responsible for every part of development, so literally all you have to do is marketing. I can make a solid product at no risk to you. As others have said....if you can easily invest thousands of dollars in an idea then this isnt for you for. However, I know everyone has an idea, but often not the means to make it happen, here is the chance.

Also I already have a full schedule with my job as I am working on a large project atm...therefore apart from the time I saw open for this project around the holiday, I dont have any extra time to take on any more projects.

nice but sorry to hear you require the JV partner to be specifically located in the US, at this time I live abroad and I believe you are restricting yourself by passing such requirement. Simply thinking out loud here..

I agree with you too.

In a joint venture.... no question is off limits.

and what YOU think is important... might not be important to someone else.

I have been burned by working with people oversees before, obviously no offense to you....but living oversees makes it impossible to hold a legal contract between us.

That being said I might make exceptions, but I would have to think about it...PM me if you had a particular idea.
