[AMA] SMS Marketing & RoboCalling

Sorry guys, I was a little busy the last couple of days and didn't have the time to reply to all the questions.

How many fresh domains for example would you recommend for a campaign of 10,000 sends?

10K SMS will not need that many, you can do it with only 1, but to be safe use 3 domains.

Thanks for answering my questions. I'm going to start creating a new tracker domain and dashboard now.

Good luck, let me know if you have any questions or need any guidance.

I did some whitehat SMS marketing for a customer in Germany. Real brick and mortar store, customers opted in for SMS. We sent newsletters to all customers where the email bounced or we didn't have an email on file.

The problem is that SMS is really expensive in Germany, around 0.07 Eur per message. I used a SMS Gateway (cns24) but this is very bad for black hat spam, because you have to register with address and pay by bank. In the case of spam they will block the account and threaten with a 10000 Eur lawsuit... don't want to try my luck here.

As an alternative I used the Envaya App on an android smartphone. It connects to a gateway (I made a own one in PHP) and polls for outbox SMS and then sends them via the phone's SIM. While it is easy (but a bit expensive) to get anonymous SIMs, the problem is that the 10 Eur SMS "flatrate" is not really a flatrate but fails after around 400 SMS per month(O2/Telefonica). maybe other providers can send more. 10 Eur for 400 SMS is still 0.025 Eur per SMS. probably not worth it for spammy messages.

Hello,
Here's a little trick you can use to check the real sending limit:
try to program your system to wait 1-3minute between each SMS, and if you can try to send different text (using a spin writer script),
Also, try to send an SMS without any URL or Phone number,
That way you'll know the real number of SMS you can send with a SIM card.

What do you think about ringless voicemail drops?

I didn't do any Ringless Voicemail drops before, I've already replied to this, check previous replies.

How would you recommend doing this for a local service based business?

I really don't understand your question, but if you want to provide SMS as Service to other costumers, just read the previous replies, I've already explained everything.

Is there any hardware required for SMS marketing/spamming? Or is an api-system in the likes of Twilio often used?

You can read the replies on this thread and you'll know the answer to that question.

I have been in the SMS field here in the US for 8 years now. I have used dozens of different companies using both short, long & Toll Free. I have recently teamed up with a company offering really cheap rates of less than $0.009 per message. However, links are almost impossible to get out. With Corona virus running rampant in the US. I have lost over 90% of my clients that were doing bulk SMS and voice. So, I have recently been working with CPC and CPA offers, promoting various offers. However, my CPC pricing has dropped off over 50% with the virus. So, I will be seeing very little ROI with the SMS sources i am using now.

So I have a few questions?

I am sending to US and Canada only.

#1. How hard is it to get links out with multi port GSM gateways?
#2. How many sends can I send per port/sim per hour?
#3. How long before I need to replace sims? "How many sends in average?"

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Sorry to hear that your business is suffering from the Coronavirus,
The best bet is to set an auto-reply system using GSM gateways,
you send SMS without a link or phone number If the receiver reply to your SMS the system will send automatically the second SMS including the link,
For the quota and SIM replacement, you gonna need to test to get a better idea, it depends on the carrier and the type of subscription you're using.

do you do it in third coutnry, or first?
i think most people ignore spammy message.

Have u ever worked with a cpa offer using SMS marketing ?

Did it in multiple countries,
You should work on your SMS texts, the same way you work on your ad copy, so you make your message more interesting to the receiver.

Not a lot, but yes I did, and if you have the right list and the right offer you'll get a good conversion rate.

Did you have a script that you read? What kind of copy helped closed the deal for major clients.

Hello everyone,

The purpose of this thread is to share my knowledge with the members of BHW,
I'm not selling any services or guides,
Please don't PM me asking for any services.

I was running a successful business in the SMS Marketing & RoboCalling Business (As a service for high-end clients).

Last year I decided to switch to another business (Digital Marketing Agency & Whitehat SMS Marketing).

In the past, I was doing BlackHat Marketing (SMS Spamming & RoboCalling) but to specific countries (Where regulations where a little easy to deal with) and I was doing it for clients (Some of them are very known brands),
I'm also working now with multiple brands to integrate SMS Marketing solutions (SAAS, eCommerce, Dropshippers...)

I will not refer you to any services, so please don't ask me about any recommendations, do your research because this depends on the country & the price you're willing to pay.

If you want to integrate SMS marketing into your funnel, just give me a broad idea of what you're doing so I can give you the best advice.

To give you an idea about what I was doing in the past:
  1. Getting clients in specific countries.
  2. Scrapping phone numbers depending on the client's niche.
  3. Sending SMS via SIM cards & Grey routes OR installing a RoboCall system depends on the client's needs.

Whats an example of daily revenue? Have you worked in real estate niche?

Actually you don't need to move,
You need to search for a Grey/Black route SMS provider in the country you want to target,
And when you pay, find a way to pay without revealing your real identity.

You're welcome :)
could you suggest if possible, im looking to grey/blackhar sms provider for tier 1 us/ca, TIA.

I hired sales representatives to deal with that.

Yes, I worked with multiple real estates companies,
When I work with companies I charge for SMS sent and the price depend on if they're going to provide a list or I provide one.

Sorry, I can't recommend any company or provider,
Please do some research and you'll find plenty.

Are you working with agents to get clients or investors? Have you done this in the US? I'm wondering what the ceiling in revenue for this type of business is

I hired sales representatives to get me clients (Basically something like a referral system),
I didn't work with US clients personally, but I helped someone who is actually working with US clients and he is killing it,
Revenue depends on the clients you can get and campaigns they're going to run.

Nice share OP, thanks for the info, i read all the posts and watched it for later use!

One thing i was wondering tho, was mentioned that you should convert your cold list into optins,

Do you actually have to reaquire their details from them willingly, or them answering the non promotional SMS that comes first, is considered Opting in?

Because for example in FB Messanger, i had a bot that is allowed to send you a message if you comment on one of my posts.

You can never message this person again, UNLESS, he answered your first message with any message, than messenger wise, he is considered opted in.

In Messenger case your still not allowed to bombard him with promotions from that moment onward, but your allowed to "contact" him from time to time.

Just wondered if it works the same for SMS, because if they reply, it does show some intent from their side, so quite makes sense.

There's a lot of ways to convert your non-optin list to an opt-in one,
It really depends on the country and regulation,
And SMS is not like FB Messenger,
For FB you can get away with 99% of the SPAM (I'm talking about the legal part),
For SMS you'll get in trouble easily if you don't know what you're doing.
And even if a contact is opt-in, you shouldn't send tons of SMS per day, and also in some countries, you should only send SMS in the day-time...

If you could share some of those methods to make your list "kosher" that would be really helpful.

I have been there for like 6 years and I agree with you that it's really hard right now. Most of my campagins are also down a lot and delivery is hard. I know your $0.0009 company also. Hope this corona virus will not be arround for long time :/ Probably we talked on skype few times :)
