I have learned a lot since I joined this website. Many useful tips.
My first choices for keywords were not the best. I chose a very hard keywords to rank for. I also started by ripping off some articles from other sites. Since then, I improved my site and added some original content and worked very hard on building back links. I am spending between 12-14 hours daily to work on my site. considering the fact that I know very little about website development, I am progressing very slowly.
Now, I want to find out if I am going in the right way. I don't mind the hard work, but I also want to see results. I know that my website is fairly new, but when I google my website name, I find that many of blogs and message board postings manged to go through moderators, yet, my traffic is almost zero. My website doesn't rank anywhere.
I know that my site is indexed as well as all my pages. Even the ones that do not pass through copyscape.
I have also started tweeting on twitter, I am posting on forums, activated my youtube account( No videos yet)
What else should I do?
How can optimize my website. Are there any tools that help me diagnose the ills in my site?
BTW non of the site exploreres engines have data about my domain :(
It's been 2 months already.

I know it takes much longer time than that.I just want to make sure that I am on the right path.
Thanks to any one who replies to my post with advice :D
Have a great day

Hi,

What do you mean by working very hard with building backlinks?

If you are doing only manual submissions then I'm afraid you will never receive the wanted traffic (especially if you took a hard keyword to rank).

Check what kind of backlinks your competitors have and try to beat that.

Cheers

I have used opensiteexplorer. to find the links set by the my competitor who ranks first on Google and I am posting on similar websites. Yet things have changed in the past few months. My posts were hidden and I was sent emails form the high rank websites, informing me that I broke the terms of posting and they put my comments down even though, I was concealing my links:o
I read a bout scrapebox and would consider it at some time in the future after I make my first sale. Till then, i am trying the manual and I am learning a lot. I am open to suggestions though.

Well scrapebox is very useful tool in IM and you should definately purchase it.

If you are creating same backlinks as your competitors try to do more than they have and keep adding content to your site and you are on the right tracks.

Cheers

DrumBass

aren't Scrapbox, will cause a website blacklisted ?

Hard work always pays.
Dude create WEB 2.0 properties manually, post good content and link your money site. Buy scrapebox its not costly blast your WEB 2.0 links in SB.
If you don't have money for scrapebox just build backlinks on your own.
For each and every new post you make on your site ping that new content.
Tweet your new pages as well.
Mix all backlinks(WP,.EDU,.GOV),directory submission, article submission, social book marks, etc.,
While manually backlinking make sure you are building links in high PR sites. Always ping your backlinks.

Hope this helps. Ask me if you need more assistance.
You inspired me dude, by saying working 12 to 14hrs a day.

All the best.

You don't have to blast your site directly (this is not recommended usage for a new website).

You can also do other things besides creating backlinks with SB.

Like I mentioned in my previous post

Some people are advising to wait a bit till things settle with google's new changes before purchasing software. I will defiantly consider buying it soon as soon I get money.

"My first choices for keywords were not the best. I chose a very hard keywords to rank for.", "I also want to see results", "I am progressing very slowly" and "I know very little about website development" - you've answered your own question in these four quotes, lol. Hard competition is not bad, but it's not for beginners, and you have said you do not know very much. Try something smaller first, not because it's easier to rank and make money quicker, but because it's easier to rank and you'll gain confidence in doing so and you'll find good/bad methods. You don't need to ditch the whole website, just find a similar keyword with less competition. "Battered fish" could become "Gluten free battered fish", etc.

"I am spending between 12-14 hours daily to work on my site", means you should be reading more and trying new methods - websites and SE ranking may not be for you, perhaps you're a merchant wizard on eBay. How effectively are you working with your time? How much information are you reading, and how many new methods have you tried? Very important to use time to the most efficiency.

"How can optimize my website. Are there any tools that help me diagnose the ills in my site?" - use WP and search here for suggested plugins, I can't go through all of them as there are too many and it's so dependent on what you're doing.

Good luck

@DrumBass isn't blasting other sites is called link farming? I read about that. I will try it when I get SB. Thanx
@Wolfpack; I am almost living in the blackhatworld :D that is how I went form 0 knowledge to being a noob:18:

Can you tell me how to ping my backlinks?

many people make mistakes at the beginning, especially with keywords.
Tat doesn't invalidate what I have learned so far. I learn from my mistakes and try to fix them.

Hope we all see your success thread soon.

Some questions to consider:

1. Are you actually conducting backlinks correctly? Do you have diversity?

2. How much unique content have you actually posted ? And from how many different high PR sources?

3. Are you actively involved, or striving to be an authority figure in your niche?

4. How many backlinks in total do you actually have?

5. How many other related/buying keywords are you also ranking for?

Thanks for the reply

1. Are you actually conducting backlinks correctly? Do you have diversity?
I am targeting my niche forums and blogs for now, but also posting a bit on other sites with authorative websites

2. How much unique content have you actually posted ? And from how many different high PR sources?
I have 25 postings so for, between unique and spinned

3. Are you actively involved, or striving to be an authority figure in your niche?
How do I do that?
4. How many backlinks in total do you actually have?
Not sure, SEO Quake is showing 52/26

5. How many other related/buying keywords are you also ranking for?
I am focusing on 3 for now

Would be looking for more feedback. Not Sarcasm please :D

At least you haven't spent 6 months making software similar to Zennoposter, only to realize that such software exists and its much, much better than your custom solution.

If you're getting traffic from what you do then you're not wasting time... me on the other hand, I'm pretty screwed.

u are on the right track and there are tons of people on the same boat as you. i suggest you invest in some blackhat tools taht is suggested by many members of this forum.

some of these great tools are scrapebox, article marketing robot, senuke, xrumer to name a few of the good ones.

i suggest you learn about the different types of backlinks that a site can have. use the tools listed above to aquire some different backlinks and look into the word 'indexing backlinks'

no one here will spoonfeed you the info but we can guide you on the right track. the download section has great ebooks that you should look into.

goodluck

I am actually not looking to be spoonfed!I guess it is not in the culture of this forum anyway.
I google a lot and I have learnt many things from other sites and even from spying on my competitors :D
I mostly want to buy the SB as soon as I can afford it.
