Am I taking the right college class?

So i just enrolled in Ashworth college, an online accredited school & I'm taking Online business management. I'm worried that the curriculum taught isn't going to teach me what I need to know to lay a good foundation for a career in affiliate marketing &/or the knowledge to build & maintain successful niche sites. I tried playing 21 questions with the admissions advisor but he wasn't knowledgeable on the subject. Sense I'm anxious to get my foot in the door & this course seemed the most relevant I went ahead with it. I'm really hoping I'm not throwing money down the drain.

I frequent these forums a lot & i think the community here is very knowledgeable so I wanted to ask you're guys opinion. Doe's this sound like what I'm looking for? Here is the curriculum for the course. Thank you guys for any feedback I'd really appreciate it.

Doe's this sound like what I'm looking for?
Well what are you looking for?

If this is what you want to learn then it seems ok. You could learn all of that and then decide to be a doctor, so be clear that you want to do it.

Personally I would just skip that course and get started with the info here. Its all practical, and no theory. Where as a course is the opposite.

You've at least got plenty of course work that you can just re-write, and stick on a blog.

If you 're not looking to getting the degree as a means to apply for a job, it 's probably a waste of money because you can learn what you need here on your own. On the other hand, if one doesn't even know what "the internet" is, well, a course wouldn't be bad then.

First of all you have to respond to question you are about to ask yourself: What am I looking for ?

Once you do that, you will know what to do

I think you should use your time and absorbent mind of young man to obtain as much USEFUL/PROFITABLE knowledge as possible.

Focus on things that seem to be lucrative but not extremely boring.

Keep in mind the older you are, the less absorbent your head becomes.

Loosing time on learning unnecessary things is what you should avoid as much as possible.

Of course it's not possible always to undertake right decission, but try to avoid mistakes.

Nobody is able to tell you what you should learn, beacause everybody has different abilities to learn different things.

Think about it and take responsibility for your OWN choice.

Asking somebody else what you should do is dumping the responsibility on somebody else. Then it will be easy for you to complain (if something goes wrong), what is not what you are looking for I believe.

If you are looking for a career in this filed then a qualification is good. I work as a vocational learning advisor in retail and speaking to store managers they are looking for people who can prove that they can do the job. Building up a portfolio of websites that you have designed will also compliment any certificates that you gain.

You're taking internet marketing classes. You can learn ALL of that here in your spare time. Instead of taking those, take website development classes, and business communcations(Business to Business Marketing), some other I.T. courses to increase your flexibility. All of those new classes you would be taking would attribute to the internet marketing your'd be leaning here.

No college course will teach you everything you need to know about Affiliate Marketing. I want to own my own offline SEO company and have been wondering which major to shoot for. I could do business which would teach me the basics of starting and running your own business, I could do marketing which would help in some aspects of online marketing, or I could do computer science which would help on the programming side of all this. However, none of them are going to teach me the exact things I want to learn. That's what this forum is for and the internet in general. If you need to choose a curriculum, then your best choosing one that will in one way or another help you achieve your long term goals. But in the end of the day, there are no courses that will teach you how to think outside of the box and truly profit. Only trial and error will do that.

Exactly the point I made.

I say learn something that actually needs structure and supervision, like programming. Something that's NOT readily available to just anyone.
