My X account used to get 100K impressions a month, with up to 35K impressions on a post. Since a week my engagement has gone down drastically, with posts barely getting a few hundred views/ reach.

Could this happen because I promoted my new posts with links in other's comments? Or does this happen if too many accounts block me?
I need to fix this since it's a work account.
Please share what you think!

Have you tried to post something without a link, like you used to do before, to see how it goes?

Sorry for the missunderstanding. I don't add links into my posts. I use the link of the said post to promote in comments.

I think its due to posting links in comments because platforms like X often deprioritize accounts that repeatedly post links, especially in comments. This can be seen as spammy behavior by algorithms, which could lead to reduced reach for your posts or If these links were flagged as spam by other users, that could also contribute to the issue. Avoid using links in comments unless it’s highly relevant.

Noted! Other than jut stopping the commenting, can I do anything else to speed up the recovery process?

Only once or do you reply with links on every comment?

It seems like they have marked your account as spammy.

I would suggest trying to post normal content like you used to before, without adding links in the comments, and see what happens.

I copy my post then promote it under other posts (of other accounts) that I see are getting good engagement so the viewers of that post can see my comment under and it might peak their interest

Analyze your recent activity to see if it might have unintentionally caused negative reactions. Use X Analytics to identify any anomalies in your recent posts. See which types of content performed well and try to replicate that style. Post engaging, non-promotional content for a while to regain organic traction and test different post times, use media (images/videos), and participate in trending discussions to reignite engagement.

It’s possible that promoting new posts with links in others’ comments or having too many accounts block you could impact engagement. To fix it, try posting consistently, engaging more with your audience, and ensuring your content aligns with current trends.
