I'm about ready to start creating tiered links for my money site and I'd like to understand if this seems correct as I'd hate to get my money site penalized due to improper strategy. The following will be an example of what I have learned tiered link building should be..

Money Site

  1. Unique Content(of course -- DUUUUHHH).
Tier 1

  1. 5 Web 2.0s (wordpress, blogger, tumblr, blogspot, etcetera)
  2. Uniquely written 500+ words article niche related with a link pointing to article on MONEY SITE.
Tier 2

  1. Blast TIER 2 with SEnuke or Scrapebox or Ultimate Demon or GSA SER, etc with links pointing to TIER 1 (same method as tier 3).
Tier 3

  1. Use SEnuke or Scrapebox or anything that can blast blog comments, trackbacks, guestbooks, directories, etcetera.

The only thing I don't understand is what most people mean by quality in tier 2 and tier 3, how would there be quality included if we're blasting to everywhere..?

Overall ---

Tier 1 -> Money Site
Tier 2 -> Tier 1
Tier 3 -> Tier 2

Does this pretty much brake it down?

Yes just make sure Tier 1 are good links, diversify your keyword anchors and make sure your content is super spun, if you are using a spun article. You probably wont need tons of tier 1 links so just take your time rather than blasting at once!

Thank you for the response, believe it or not, (I got a good laugh out of it) I had your blog opened as I was reading the "How to rank a new site quickly and safely" post.

I figured TIER 1 should be unique hand written content as it would be the most important asset in passing juice to your money site.

When you do tiered link building, how soon do you usually start seeing results, one month to month and a half?

You should see very first results in few days.

For Tier2 use medium quality of links(on PR domains with low OBL etc...) and for Tier3 you can use all the rest.

I have to agree with jaselc, make sure you diversify your keyword anchors. The more the better, trust me.

Some good advice posted above, depending on your competition, you can also increase your tier 1 links.

These medium quality links, should I scrape them myself with scrapebox or is there somewhere on BHW that has a big listing of sites?
Should they be niche related or just any websites that I can post my tiers to?

Could you explain on the meaning of keyword diversity? Do you guys mean to not use the same keyword, ex: MONEY SITE keyword: how to train your dog, and in the tiers I'd change up to something like: learn to train your dog, dog training for beginners, etcetera?

Some good advice posted above, depending on your competition, you can also increase your tier 1 links.

How many TIER 1 links would be considered a good amount for one specific page I'd be aiming to promote from my MONEY SITE?

As mentioned above, no of tier 1 links totally depends on your competition, check the backlink profile of top 10 sites and plan your strategy.

Alright, thank you.

Are there any other suggestions?

A good quote I read (not sure where from):

"Always keep one step away from the poop"

So if you want good quality web 2s, make sure Tier 2 is half decent too. Then you can blast the shiz out of tier 2.

What I do these days is I build tier 2 and tier 3 using only contextual links, articles and shyt and then point the spam blast to tiers 2 and 3. So I have have 3 tiers of contextual links and a shitload of spam to tiers 2 and 3. Not sure if it really makes that much of a difference but been doing pretty well lately.

To clarify, it's something like this:
Tier 1, quality links, whatever that means
|
Tier 2, all contextual, spun garbage content <------------spam
|
Tier3, same as tier 2, spun garbage content <------------spam

Just something that has been on my mind lately, what if the tiers were composed of 3 web 2.0's as a layer to the money site, and on the fourth tier (tier 4), you'd blast comments with links to tier 3 and tier 5 it would be just complete spam for tier 4.. Like this.. With the first TIERS all unique written content.. Or is this how it would end up being as I do more tiered link building of I wanted to do another cycle for a specific page?

Money site
Tier 1 (web 2.0) -> Money Site
Tier 2 (web 2.0) -> Tier 1
Tier 3
(web 2.0) -> Tier 2
Tier 4 -> Blast with Software with link to Tier 3..

Wouldn't this pass on more juice overall?

This is what I'm currently implementing. Gonna try to do the whole thing with GSA SER. I think if you control it with the right settings, it can really do amazing things. I was debating on whether or not using KM/WAC/etc. auto-spun content was still acceptable for tier 2/3, as long as it was relevant...and it seems like the general consensus is it's still OK.

I also don't know a good link velocity for the "spam" tiers. Should they just be blasted away at your tiers?

I put absolutely zero thought on link velocity, just spam spam spam away like a boss. And yeah, I use KM generated content on 2nd and 3rd tier.

Yeah you are ready but you need to make sure you do not use duplicate or spun content with your tier 1 profiles
even if they are copyscape passed.

You should scrape yourself medium quality links, using your own keywords lists - that's the best way.

The idea with four tiers you wrote is saver method but for sure not more powerfull - if you need power just make all good quality web 2.0 pointing to your site(lower quality you can use by tools and spun content).

Also, through some social signals at your money site and tier one links. That should give it a nice advantage than not. Don't bother sending them to tier two/tier three links though, unless you are ready to do a million dollar SEO campaign.

What type of links to use for tier 2??

What I plan on using are the following for TIER 2.

  1. Directories
  2. Bookmarks
  3. Trackbacks
  4. Comments (general)
  5. Guestbooks
  6. Image comments

It would be nice to get some more suggestions.

Just go ahead and do it - you can get a ton of advice on "Do this" or "Do that" but none of it will matter until you try. If you take someone's word for granted you are risking not doing something that might still be working. Do it yourself, fail, it's no big deal, it'll still be more valuable than gathering knowledge instead of experience.
