apart from a brain that is :) I've just built up a few twitter accounts and taking it real easy - got about 4000 followers - and I send out tweets for some Maxbounty offers masked with tinyurl. Thing is I've registered hundreds of clicks for them but not 1 single conversion. Is this to be expected with Twitter and should i stop or try something different - I just cant get Maxbounty to convert!! Help! Ta

It depends what offers your sending out... And are you blanking the referer?

Maybe that's because many of twitter users are more tech-savy? Did you target the users by niche? Are you giving them targeted offers?

Just my opinion though... I see a lot of tweets with tinyurl and when they're clicked, they go to genuine articles... Maybe you are promoting too much?

Regards

I agree you have many followers but do you know who your followers are? and are you putting up what your followers want. Like if your targeted audience is affilate marketers don't promote ebooks as the majority of us won't buy a ebook. But i would buy tools that would help me build my business.

You need targetted followers on twitter, otherwise it's pointless, I've found trying to make money like this on twitter doesn't really work very well unless you have a very targetted list of followers, then you can make some money, I just use twitter for the traffic reasons.

thanks for the advice guys. Well my lists are quite targetted eg computers/tech, xbox and so on, maybe just not targetted enough. Do I need to blank the referrer for this type of thing? I thought that was just for real 'black hat' stuff - then again aybe this is. any opinions?

this twitter thing is starting to dilute, so many people are out there trying to cash in

I think the good times are on the downward slope what I am finding is the followers are Internet Marketers

what I have heard from others is that if your followers are only sending you offers its time to trim your list down to who actually tweets with you

You can't tweet every post with a sales pitch, plus the comments about targeted followers are key. If you spend some time actually tweeting and building up your rep, then a pitch every now and then will work better. Its the same as any social network in this regard.

yeah thats what i'm doing, mixing in random sales tweets with targetted feeds etc - all from autoblogs 1 per account so far. And I just got my first sale $8 - yahoo!!
Just worried about the referrer now
