Are they used to simulate organic traffic with bots?
Or post social posts and comments..?
Do people still warm up accounts with proxies?

Imagine having 10 social media accounts, each of them auto posts stuff. It might arouse suspicion, all those posts coming from the same IP address, 24/7, 365 days. So instead of buying 10 VPS, you buy 10 proxies and use them to spam the internet.

There is so many use cases for proxies. Main one is Google scraping I guess, but then you could use for a lot of thinks: social accounts, check price of competitors, scraping data, posting comments, etc.

You'll know at the moment you're trying to do something and then it hits you: damn, that's what proxies are for!

If you don't know, then you don't need them.

Care to elaborate? lol that was my question. im sure my guess' aren't that well and there must be other use cases..

so mainly for doing very large data collection..at scale?

Multiple Accounts + No proxy = BAN

You can extrapolate this formula to mostly any site in the world.

I believe you can think of the benefits of having multiple accounts.

Also good proxies save you from A LOT of captchas. And solving captchas could be really costly $$$
