I tried a lot of VPSes but eventually what happens is that too much of the resources are shared and the system becomes worthless. Yes, you can complain to the admin and he can do something for that time but it will become worthless again.

Better find a cheap dedicated server for normal tasks.

Having a dedicated server has its own perks, especially when you can make sure your security is the top priority as well as could get unlimited SSL. I have five advanced servers from OVH, each with 32 core processors and 256GB ram. I have assigned at least 32 GB Ram for each website, the performance is way far better than shared host.

Is it really necessary, unless you have a really big site(s)?

I'm using VPS droplets for all of my sites and it's been working wonders so far. I barely have to do anything, as Cloudways takes care of the fundamentals.

12 buck a month sounds very cheap though!

I'm using OVH VPS and it works flawless.
$5/m, purchased during black friday

I started using liquidweb for all my clients and my own sites, now i don't even think about moving them.

They have ultimate support.
Easy to manage.
No complaints.

I think in the beginning it's fine to go with a VPS, but later on, when you start receiving a good amount of traffic, you should move your website to a dedicated server. I am using DO for the time being and using $5 droplets for my new sites. For dedicated servers, nothing beats hetzner and oneprovider. :)

I use cloudways too. Its cheap and more importantly I like the fact that I can scale it up later without having to migrate my site. Ive had horrible experiences migrating in the past. Its bad when you have an ecommerce site and lose sales.

That's hella cheap, are the speed and uptime good in your experience?

Yeah it is good so far. I used an old coupon I found by searching through their public posts. Otherwise, it is about $16.

I think they are also using atom cpu, to host there main site, its taking forever to load the site.
and btw they are also using ovh,

Depends on VPS virtualization type, not always it will become useless. Usually SSD KVM VPS boxes do the job and will not become useless, OpenVZ do become useless, KVM is different.

From BHW KVM SSD VPS providers, i can highly recommend THCServers, Offshore-Servers after that Hostwinds on the list, been there done that, you will feel like on a dedi, all of them offer KVM SSD.

I've used Vultr VPSs and i don't have any complaints... But 12$ for a dedi sounds really cheap lol
