    Hi all

I am trying to ‘rent out’ a website. Its on 1[SUP]st[/SUP] page of Google for loads of really nice competitive terms and gets a decent amount of traffic. I talked to a few people in couple of companies, they were very interested in that idea. However where the talks broke down was that they wanted to pay me per ‘successful conversion’ whereas I want them to pay me per lead. I consider lead to be the person who is so interested that he/she makes a call or sends an email. The industry is really profitable as even a single product can cost up to £3K! Now the problem is if I go with their offer of getting paid when someone buys something from them, I am trusting them blindly which is not really good in business since I have no way of independently verifying that info. I am already using a virtual tracking number on that website however it doesn’t record calls and even if it would, I don’t think this would be a scalable business model. I am interested if anyone of you has been in a similar situation and what they did?

I don't see any alternatives, however what I would do is send them free leads. So they can check the conversion rate, and based on that you can set a better lead price. You need a call tracking platform to do this.

Try hunting for a call tracking program so you can hold them to their word should legal disputes crop up. However, I'd recommend not falling for it at all in the hopes of later winning legal battles. It should not come to that. If they're being dodgy like that just avoid it altogether. It's a man eat man world. There's a popular saying - There is always a fool in a deal. If according to you, no one is losing in a deal, then it's you.

Try and get the the deal done in a manner that you have the access to the incoming calls and the recordings.

One way is to use a VOIP service shared by both of you and the recording service is not costly at all.

If you think this can be a solution then I can explain you in detail.
