I torrented MNF a while ago and I just discovered that it stopped working. I can't find any other keys, so I want to make some money so I can buy the thing and support the guys who made the tool. I was wondering if I could find a tool here or somewhere else that you guys would recommend as an alternative until I make enough money to buy MNF. I really miss its nice features, but I think I can make do without it for a while.

    Thanks in advance.

Have a search for market samurai there's a few versions of it floating around in the downloads section, its a bit more complicated than MNF but its pretty good.

More complicated sounds good to me

I really liked the ability to check for strength of competition in MNF, does MS have a similar function? I think that's what made my articles do so well in the past

MS is an alternative to MNF, that is true, but here's the problem: MS is 150 and MNF is 97.
You mentioned until you can afford. So, 50 bucks more can wait, that much longer. MNF has what you're asking for - SOC. MS has other stuff.

But in the meantime, use the Google Keyword Tool, which is free, or also their WonderWheel, and check comp yourself by doing a search and see what comes up.

You can go Broad or "Exact" for the search terms, with or without quotes, and if that ain't good enough then see about seobook for more tools, or get the free seo add-on for firefox. All free. Plus these last ones have more info than you'll know what to do with it.

Have you considered Traff1c Trav1s? I hear it may even be better than MS. Either way, it should help you get by okay. Go here for the download. Pay attention to posts #2 & #3 and you will get the "Professional" version. Hope this helps ;)
