I think Yoast plugin is the best for now. Although, there are other plugins. But Yoast is better. Try it.

I would recommend google analytics if you want a quick simple setup.
you do have to add filters for referral spam though as it skews your numbers.
You can also add custom tags so you can track key actions on your site.

yes I agree. Google Analytics is the best for that. It is easy to use for beginners. Just research on Google on how to use it on your blog.
