I am working on a multilingual site these days and using WPML plugin. The main site is in English language and I am planning to translate the content in as many as 3 different languages (Spanish, Portuguese, Italian) I was planning to get the content translated using Google Translate, but wanted to know if there is any other better content translator that is more accurate than Google?

I found many on Google, like DeepL, Microsoft Translator, iTranslate, Linguee, etc. But I wanted to get a first hand review of them from the community who have actually used them.

I am fine even if it is a paid tool.

What do you suggest? Thanks in advance!

Deepl is the only decent one. But truth is that no tool is really good. It also depends on the language combo, and linguistic "distance". In other words, two languages may have more or less similarities, and that plays a role combined with how much data the AI has been trained on.

Depending on the scale of your project, have you considered using open AI to translate?

I translate English - German and DeepL is my platform of choice. I tried chatGPT a few weeks ago but find it's a bit idiosyncratic, so always go back to DeepL. That said I would expect chatGPT to get better. Bard is way behind at the moment.

I'm using the Deepl integration with the "Advanced Editor" from WPML on one of my websites.
It's nice when some posts receive some updates and only the modified/new sentences need a translation. You don't have to search for what has been updated.
The downside is that the text is translated sentence by sentence and sometimes having more context or being able to have your own Deepl account preferences would be better.

Not a big fan of ChatGPT translation either. Although, I managed to get better results by prompting to "rewrite the article as a native XX speaker. Don't try to translate every sentence directly from English."

I tried chat gpt translation and found it no better than google translate. I think google translate is the best option in the end.

Linguee is owned by DeepL. It's a page where they showcase their translation examples and how their AI has been fed side by side.
DeepL is nowadays the way to go if you find the language pair you are looking for. Otherwise, you will have to stick with Amazon Translate or Google Translate, probably with the latter for very rare languages.

DeepL is the best alternative. But there are tons of translators that are available.
