Alternative Text for Photos in Wordpress

Should I add Alternative Text to every photo on a blog page?

Rank Math asks for the main keywords in 1 photo's Alternative Text....

Do I do this to every photo with a different keyword? I don't want to get penalized for Keyword Stuffing....

My photos are niche relevant but I'm not creating "How To" guides so the pictures are there just to set the mood of the blog post.

I put 3 to 4 photos per blog post.

I was adding other related keywords if they were also relevant to the pictures but at a certain point when i was adding numerous pages frequently i gave up on it.

Didn't know if I should go back and try to catch up. If it would make any difference in SERP?

Can be used to get your images onto Google Images and such... In a way that's drawing more traffic right? :D
 
Add keyword to the header image alt text. Add what that image is about to the rest of alt text. It takes me 2 min to do it and be done with it for each blog post.

Sounds good. I'll take that approach from now on. Give me a good reason to go back and check out old blog pages and get them updated.
 
The images are easier to rank for some keyword then your post. And with images people tend to click and go directly to site.

Also if the keyword intent is to check images like: Best birthday cake,

People tend to go to images section in them. Its a good practice to add the alt text.
