alternate method to advertise affiliate link

Hey guys....

I am an affiliate of a couple of dating sites. I got banned recently for posting on BP. The D-head reported me and one of my affiliates canned me....

I'm not real savvy when it comes to promoting this kind of thing. I basically will go to a free classified ad site, post an ad with an affiliate link that takes someone right to the date site......I can't see beyond the nose on my face...I get stuck in a particular "zone" like I have blinders....

I'm almost scared now to advertise and blow my other affiliate...

I am at a loss to "graduate" from posting free ads to some other type of promotion or method. I know some people have sites where they will have affiliate or ppc links but I really am behind the learning curve and don't yet have the experience to get something like that up and running.....feel like I'm between a rock and a hard place..I could use a little direction......

any suggestion on a method that maybe isn't incredibly difficult to launch, that I won't have the fear of getting banned everytime I post?

or some other method? any help would be appreciated......

Trying creating a free blog post your offer there. Have your ads point to that blog . That way you are not directly linking your clasified ad to your affiliate link.

I actually gave this a try I used a free adult blog . Use some free advertising methods other than classified ads .

you need to also look at cloaking your links, there should be thousands of threads and books in here and on other forums, when the link is cloaked, it protects you in two ways, first of all it protects you from the dumbass lunatics who go around trying to police the internet and reporting you to ur affiliate network manager for No aparent reason or gain on their part, secondly you are possibly protecting urself from the aff network itself (thou it must be Good quality cloaking for this kind of protection)

If you use your website you should not worry about it. Never use only your affiliate link. It;s easier to be detected and finally banned.

Hi there, i thought i'd contribute a little here, not a lot but every little helps..

1.(cloaking) I purchase my domain names from godaddy and they have an ideal feature within the cpanel where you can "mask" your url.So lets say 4 example ur promoting weight loss product...purchase a domain from go daddy say myweightlosswebsite dot com choose forwarding feature..enter in your hoplink,save then mask your url.when people click on the link they are taken to the sales page for the product ur promoting but url stays there.

2. (advertising alternatives) video??

use camtasia,powerpoint or other free video creation tools to create a short video of what ur selling..it could be as simple as a headline with some bullet points taken from your sales page....with some royalty free music in the background...submit it to all the video sites...ive used traffic geyser, however there are other free video submission websites who submit to around 25 individual sites, and the rest you can do manually.

ok, you have to sign up 4 a few video accounts,but once ur signed up and the accounts created ur done!!

i'd recommend digg for getting seen quickly,however they dont allow forwarded urls...unless you halted ur domain forwarding, threw up a basic index.html page just before you submitted ur site,then afterwards put it back to the way it was....

it aint much but i hope it helps

tubemogul.com is a good mass video submitter... i just use screencast-o-matic and powerpoint with some hot girls thrown into the mix... best way to get some attention

you'll see some examples in that thread... and the good thing is the program we promote doesn't care where and how you advertise as that's what business is about... promoting and then providing the products and/or services
